Rob Blaney has had a successful career in musical theatre for the past 18 years, during which he has musical directed, conducted, and/or accompanied over 180 productions. He is well known for his exciting and innovative vocal and orchestral arrangements of many of these productions and has been fortunate to have worked with many of today's brightest Broadway stars including Adinah Alexander (Ragtime, Wicked), Jodi Benson (Voice of The Little Mermaid), Stephanie J. Block (The Boy From Oz, Wicked), Christa Jackson (Always, Patsi Cline), Michael Maguire (Les Miserables), and Paul Schoeffler (Peter Pan, Nine, Sweet Charity).
Mr. Blaney is a composer, arranger, and vocalist with many albums to his credit. He can be heard on the soundtrack of America's Sweethearts, accompanying Harry Connick Jr. in Life Without Dick, and his new children's CD Singing With Rob has garnered rave reviews from children and adults alike. In the fall of 2004 he received a Meritorious Achievement Award from the Kennedy Center for his original score for The Woman In Black ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â‚¬Å“ a ghost play presented by Concordia University in Irvine, and his song Possibilities is used in training courses around the world by a leading life-coaching organization. Mr. Blaney has provided musical leadership for many national organizations including The Marie Callender's Corporation, The Multiple Sclerosis Society, The Presbyterian Church U.S.A., and was the primary music arranger for Lift Up Your Hearts ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â‚¬Å“ Songs for Creative Worship published by Geneva Press Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â©1999. He is the composer of the new rock-drama Here I Am awaiting world-premiere. As a performer, he has played the role of Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar, and recent auditions have taken him to NY for leads on Broadway.
