About
Violist Michael Davis premiered as a soloist at age 15 at the St. Martin-in-the-Fields Cathedral, London, England, playing Teleman's G major Viola Concerto with the Walnut Hills High School Orchestra. His more recent activities include touring with the Pacific Music Festival Academy Orchestra in Japan, where he performed as principal viola in an all-Mahler program at Suntory Hall with Maestro Fabio Luisi, baritone Thomas Hampson, and members of the Metropolitan Opera orchestra.
Michael is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in the Orchestra Performance program at the Manhattan School of Music, where he studies with Karen Dreyfus as a recipient of the Charles Grossman Memorial Endowment Scholarship. Previously, Mr. Davis was a full scholarship student at the Florida International University Wertheim School of Music.
