We hired Mercury Strings as an octet for our wedding at the Nixon Presidential Library on June 21, 2025.
They played for our pre-ceremony, ceremony, and cocktail hour - and they were exceptional.

Matt communicated with us thoroughly before the event, which gave us reassurence that everything would go smoothly & it did.
They arrived early, dressed beautifully, and were calm, professional, and ready!

One of the things that impressed us most was how willing they were to go above and beyond. They learned specific pieces of music that matched our theme, even though those pieces weren’t on their official repertoire list. Their willingness to accommodate our vision was greatly appreciated.

The music itself was gorgeous, perfectly in tune and beautifully executed.

Team showed up early and were great to work with. They created the mood and a beautiful, elegant atmosphere. Everyone loved it! I was also grateful that they were able to learn and perform special requests. This is a very talented group of musicians.

Last Saturday's Summer Solstice birthday dinner and musicale honoring the Servant of God, Fr. Aloysius Ellacuria, CMF, (+1981) was a resounding success, and the highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the piano performance by a virtuoso. The evening was designed to cater to our culturally educated invited guests, and Alexander Zhu, PhD, our pianist, did not disappoint. Each piece was selected with care, reflecting the depth and breadth of the piano repertoire, and executed with a level of skill that left the audience in awe. As the evening progressed, the Mr. Zhu seamlessly transitioned between classical masterpieces and contemporary compositions, showcasing a versatility that kept the audience engaged and enthralled. The dinner, which featured an array of delicious salads and gourmet dishes, was perfectly complemented by the music. Guests dined under the stars, enjoying the longest day of the year with the soothing sounds of the piano providing the perfect backdrop. The combination of exquisite food, enchanting music, and the celebration of Fr. Aloysius' legacy created an atmosphere of joy and reverence. Our guests left with their hearts full and spirits lifted, having experienced a night of pure musical bliss. It was an extraordinary celebration that honored the memory of Fr. Aloysius in the most fitting way possible, through the universal language of music. Thank you, Mercury Strings, for allowing us to celebrate Father Aloysius on the weekend of June 21st.
