In October 2008, Mario Orsini made the Head Men’s Basketball Coach of Marshall University appear “out of thin air” at half court of the Henderson Center. Little did any of the 2,000 fans in attendance that night know, it was the first time Mario had ever performed a large illusion or performed in front of more than a few dozen people. Little did Mario know, he would be on state-wide television less than a year later as a featured performer at the 2009 Miss West Virginia Scholarship Pageant.

In the last few years Mario has become one of the most in-demand magicians on the east coast. He has performed at casinos like Hollywood Casino and the Greenbrier Resort; schools including Shenandoah University, Marshall University and the University of Central Florida; for charities including March of Dimes, Habitat for Humanity, Parent-Child Center; Family Resource Network and Bartrum and Brown Charities; countless fairs and festivals including Thunder over the Blue Ridge and the WV Italian Heritage Festival; four-straight appearances at the Miss West Virginia Scholarship Pageant; and dozens of radio and TV appearances including his first national TV appearance on the Shotgun Red Variety Show in March 2012. Mario has kicked off 2013 with a bang including performances at the Strand Theatre, Musselman Auditorium, the West Virginia Speaker of the House Dinner and the opening of his new monthly show TRICKS OF THE MIND at Historic Jordan Springs.

What to Expect

Typical Gig Duration: 30 - 90 minutes

Mario’s Illusion show is 90 minutes of entertainment and amazement. Featuring large scale illusions, mind-reading, comedy and a finale that will leave you astonished and laughing at the same time, Mario and his beautiful assistants will make you a “witness of the impossible.” Check the Public Show Dates page to see where he’ll be performing next.

Mario’s most popular show is his stand-up family show. The show is fresh and hip with an edgy style and a lot of fun for all ages. The Stand-up/Stage Show includes comedy, magic, mentalism (mind reading), strange stunts, illusions and lots of audience participation. The show is perfect for banquets, fairs, festivals and many other types of events. It is customizable for audiences as small as 30 and as large as 500 plus.

Close-up magic, sometimes referred to as sleight-of-hand, is regarded by many magicians to be the purest form of magic. Mario’s close-up show lasts 30 minutes and is best suited for audiences of 20 or less. You’ll see the magic happen just inches from your eyes!

So what is Strolling magic? It’s close-up magic performed for small groups of people at a time. My illusion show requires a full functioning theater.

For my stand-up/stage shows, I prefer an elevated platform but I can perform standing on the floor as well. For smaller shows and house parties, a 6 foot by 3 foot size space works great.
