FestivalI attended the "Seed to Soul" Festival where Jerry "Old Jonah" Vencill told entertaining, stories in his mountain dialect. He tells his stories in a natural "unrehearsed" way that takes the listener back in time to enjoy the art of storytelling the way it should be.

Birthday PartyI hired Jerry to do a surprise birthday party. I sent him the information for a character that I wanted him to portray. He came as "Caleb Mullins, mountain man from Williamsburg, KY. He had the story I created to perfectly! He stayed in character for the whole party and my friends still talk about his performance seven years later!

About

Jerry Vencill (storyteller, re-enactor & historian) has entertained audiences throughout the southeastern U.S. as "Old Jonah", 'Amos Skillet", Jim Bridger & other historical characters. He has played in the Horn of The West (Boone, NC), Trail of The Lonesome Pine in southwest Virginia & other outdoor dramas in addition to television and
