Mr. Lord provided the motivational speech for our environmental conference. He spoke on his experience with building a LEED home after a devastating fire. Mr. Lord was informative, entertaining and held everyones attention throughout his presentation. He was also an asset to the conference during social networking. He has a very likeable disposition and got along well with everyone. An all around positive individual to have as a speaker.

About
Jacques Lord is a certified engineering geologist in California with over 30 years experience in environmental consulting and resource assessment. Jacques' degrees are a BSc in Math/Physics/Geology from Brown University, and an MA in Geology from Rice University. Jacques is a dynamic and polished speaker with a background in theater and education. He can entertain, educate, provoke, astonish, and ultimately communicate energetically from his heart to empower your audience to actively pursue the "green" way in environmental issues and residential building.
Mr. Lord can provide workshops, a keynote address, and even school-room presentations structured to provide students with oral, visual, and hands-on learning cues with repetition and role-playing involvement. A professional magician, Mr. Lord can highlight learning points, when appropriate, with some sleight of hand and keep the youngest of audiences engaged.
Currently Mr. Lord is providing environmental consulting for green home owners, public agencies, and developers. He is the Environmental compliance manager for the demolition of the former 46-acre Teledyne Ryan plant in San Diego, and the principal scientist for Lord Consulting.

In 2007, Mr. Lord and his family lost their home to the wildfires that destroyed over 1,700 homes in San Diego County. Two years later only 4 homes were rebuilt with comprehensive greener technologies in mind. Green issues were the LAST THING on peoples' minds when they faced rebuilding. Change is too overwhelming when you have to do it yourself, yes?

Mr. lord set out to build one of the first LEED platinum homes with the idea that for the LEED program to really take off, their replacement home couldn't be a post-modern, modular, DWELL magazine statement of avant-garde form and function, as good as those homes are. Mr. Lord set out to build a suburban tract home that looked like all the others but had the soul of Rachel Carson underneath, and he's done it for under $200 a square foot.
