I booked Erik for my wife's surprised party this past weekend at North Hills Renaissance Hotel. He did a 30 minute performance with my wife follow by a strolling/close up with my guests. Even though I booked him for an hour and half, Erik came early to scope out the venue. He "worked" the crowd while my guests were arriving and pretty much stayed until my 4 hour party started to die down. All my guests were thrilled and absolutely loved Erik. His performance was spot on and had some comic interaction mixed in. I would highly recommend to anybody and will book again in the future.

About
I first started performing Mentalism about 10 years ago in upstate New York, around the same time I developed an interest in theater and stand up comedy whose influence you'll see in my act.
I started with bars, private parties and small festivals. I continued this pursuit while living in Ohio and now in North Carolina. I've been performing professionally since 2007 for private parties, colleges, festivals and corporate events.
I offer stage performances and strolling entertainment, it is a Mentalism show that features magic as well. Both performance options are suitable for all ages and can be tailored to meet any needs you have for the event. For example: highlighting a guest of honor, describing a new product or educational training. I enjoy working with clients to present something special.
I've performed a lot of different shows in a lot of different venues over the years; including a barn, so if you have any questions about what I do please ask.
Influences
The Sherlock Holmes stories had a big influence on me discovering Mentalism in the first place and they still have a huge influence on my technique and themes.
I've also been deeply influenced by George Carlin, Penn and Teller and Andy Kaufman. There are many more I could list here, but I don't have the room.

What to Expect
Typical Gig Duration: 15 - 90 minutes
From the performance you should expect nothing less than the best. My goal is to give the audience everything I have. I want them to walk away from The Psychological Chicanery of Erik Dobell thinking it was one of the best shows they've ever seen.
From a service standpoint, I try to make everything as easy as possible for the client. You have enough to worry about with planning an event and I want to make your job easier. Since it's a one man act, my stage requirements are minimal.
Additional Notes:
I try my best to be easy to work with and my show rarely requires more than a microphone and an audience. Additional needs depend entirely on the situation.
