Wedding ReceptionI booked Elvis for my wedding. I decided on him because of his experience as a regular wedding DJ, and the Elvis show was icing on the cake. I'm not a fan of typical wedding schtick.Needless to say it went well, with everyone except my Wife, who had no clue Elvis was about come out.

Richard is incredibly easy to work with. Very nice, very though, and generally cared about the wedding and how it work. He was very organized and it was actually easier to communicate with him, then it was my best man. The weather did not cooperate with the wedding and Richard was more then accommodating to facilitate the improvised scheduled.

I highly recommend for DJ-ing, for Evlis-ing, and for just talking with a genuine nice person. He helped make the night what it was and I cant thank him enough! You won;t find a better bang for you buck. Incredible Value.

Birthday PartyNot only did Elvis E brave wintry conditions on the roads, but he had to make a quick change along the way from his Neil Diamond act into The King for my friend's surprise birthday gathering. It was fabulous and exceeded all my expectations. A spectacular show and a truly memorable action-packed 15-minutes that no one in attendance will ever forget! Affordable too. Thanks so much, Elvis E -- until we meet again!

Response from Elvis E:
Thanks, Dan. It was my pleasure.

Overview

About

With Elvis E, it is possible for you to have "Elvis" perform at your event without breaking your budget. Since 2004, I have appeared at over 800 private parties and events, including wedding receptions (where I've performed fake Vegas-style ceremonies), birthday celebrations, retirement parties, bachelorette parties, assisted-living facilities and corporate functions.

[If you found me through a search for a Neil Diamond or Roy Orbison tribute artist, I have recently added Neil and Roy to my repertoire of artists. My rates below also apply to my "Richard as Neil" or "Richard as Roy" show. Please call or e-mail me for info on my appearing for your event as Neil Diamond or Roy Orbison. You may also look for my separate "Richard as Neil" press kit here on GigSalad.]

My rates are consumer-friendly. You can have Elvis E at your function for as little as $150 for 30 minutes or $220 for a full-hour appearance. (And ask me about even lower price singing telegrams.)

I have competed in Elvis contests in Pigeon Forge, TN (5th place), Branson, Baltimore, Buffalo, Dewey Beach, DE (4th place) and Spotsylvania, VA; performed at the Night of 100 Elvises charity event in Baltimore (2004-2008), the 9:30 Club in DC (2011), Hometown Holidays and Out to Lunch Wednesdays in Rockville, MD, Live! On the Wilson Plaza in Washington, DC and performed in and hosted Elvis's Birthday Bash at Dr. Dremo's Tap House in Arlington, VA.

I can also bring my full sound system and run a complete karaoke operation for your event or DJ your oldies record hop (with or without "Elvis E"). My resume includes much of the last 30 years in radio as a disc jockey, including major market stations in the Washington, DC area. For record hops, I specialize in classic danceable oldies from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. Sorry, I don't play hip-hop, rap, ska, indy, alternative or big band.

For karaoke, I have a complete system with a 10,000 song library--featuring almost any song you can imagine, from standards to pop, country, r&b, oldies, recent hits--everything!

My rates start at $150 for a 30-minute "Elvis E" appearance. For no extra charge, I bring along a personal p.a. system good for a group of 150 or less in a small- to medium-size area. If your event requires my full sound system, I charge a reduced hourly rate for a minimum of three hours. This will get you any combination of Elvis E/karaoke/record hop for up to three hours. Note: There is an additional $40 travel fee if your gig is between 50 and 99 miles away, $70 if between 100 and 149 miles, $110 if you are 150 or more miles from me or $150 if over 200 miles away.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

When ya gotta have Elvis at your event for a reasonable rate, I'm your guy.

"Thank you, thank you very much."

What to Expect

Typical Gig Duration: 15 - 180 minutes

With Elvis E, you get a clean, light-hearted, good-natured tribute to Elvis Presley--I am appropriately serious during the serious songs like Elvis was when he performed them; yet, with a touch of humor during lighter songs and moments in the performance--all without making fun of The King or doing anything obscene. I do a lot of roaming in the audience during my performances. Like Elvis did during his 70s concerts, I like to make every lady in the room feel like Elvis is singing to her. So, I try to visit as many women as possible during my show. I give out scarves during all of my performances, teddy bears (if I sing Teddy Bear) and a lei to the guest(s) of honor (when applicable). For wedding receptions, I can perform (on request) a fake Vegas Elvis wedding ceremony for the bride and groom, complete with wedding certificate, for no extra charge. I have six jumpsuits from which to choose: the classic white Aloha American Eagle, the white Fringe, the black Nail suit, the blue Swirl, the red Burning Love and my newest suit, the Chinese Dragon. I also have the 68 Comeback Leather outfit for 68 Comeback Special sets. After the show, I am available to pose for photos with any of the guests who'd like one taken, free of charge. For singing telegram appearances, photos can be taken during my performance.

The Elvis E show is one you won't soon forget.

Stage/Setup Requirements:
One power outlet

Additional Notes:
For gigs for groups of 150 or less, I use my personal p.a. system. It only takes a minute or two to set up and start the show. All it requires is one grounded power outlet nearby. I do not bring speaker stands. If the performance area has a hardwood/linoleum floor, then the speakers work very well acoustically sitting on the floor. Otherwise, if the room is carpeted, the sound will carry better if the speakers can be placed up on chairs, small tables, a hearth, ledge or bar area--but this is not always necessary in order to get a good sound result.
