Why hire Electric String Quartet?
"Me, Myself, and I and a Laptop." ESQ is a one man band that can create backgrounds to play against on his 5 string violin or laptop in any style wanted or needed. Rock, Pop, Alternative, Jazz, Metal, Classical, Fiddle, Folk...you name it, ESQ can have a setlist for up to two to three hours of music at a time. ESQ has played on the Laura Dion-Jones show on WRMN am 1410 in the Chicagoland area, as well as played Art festivals and in coffee houses. An experience you won't soon forget.
Electric String Quartet is David Gerald Sutton with his 5 string violin, an array of pedals and a sound unlike any other. An alternative violinist, he has released his first record, "Dawn to Dusk", on ITunes, opened for many well established musicians such as Owen Pallett and Jon Hopkins, and has played with countless musicians, some of them being Darren King of MuteMath, Stacy Dupree of Eisley and fellow strings player Jeremy Larson. Electric String Quartet (ESQ) can do half hour to three hour sets, playing his own music as well as performing wedding music (Canon in D, Wedding March, etc.). His music grasps the likes of fiddle, jazz, rock, classical and alternative music and David can channel which genre to emphasize more depending on your occasion. A loyal fan stated that ESQ "would be amazing for weddings AND funerals," and he has played many in between gigs as well, including First Avenue/7th Street Entry. For a truly unique experience, ESQ is your 'one man orchestra.'

What to Expect
A 5 string electric violin, a 2X12 tube amp and a 4 foot long pedalboard. David utilizes a recording pedal to 'loop' phrases of music together into intricate songs. Not only can he play violin and viola parts (11 years classically trained on violin), but cello and bass parts using octave pedals. He can also use his pedal board to become a guitar, a steel drum, a synth, a rhythm machine and more. ESQ songs usually have at least 10 different loops by the end of the song and can also have enough parts to become a 'one man orchestra' and/or a full stage band.
Table for Merch (optional and also if allowed to sell merch at event)
Just need access to an outlet (15 ft away maximum) and at least 10 ft of space all around. Volume is easily controlled but specify what level you would prefer. Compensation for travel would be appreciated but not necessary if under a tight budget. I only mention it because it does cost more to be a solo artist than with a band to play the show, manage everything, sell merch and then have to throw in trasportation to get there.
Whatever is recommended, as well as my own songs.
