About

David has been studying Dhol with the world famous Ustad Lal Singh Bhatti ji since 2009. Ustad ji is considered the Godfather of the Dhol and remains the music guru for the top musicians and singers in the bhangra scene today. Ustad ji's life and music continue to be an inspiration to David and countless other students and audiences. As Ustad ji's student, David has had countless opportunities to perform side by side with the greatest dholi in the world and gain hands on experience.

David is an active participant in the bhangra community. He plays bugchu for the Gabroo Punjabis Bhangra team, who won first place at Nachda Punjab 2011 bhangra competition for best Live Bhangra Team and first place in the Battle of the Bands Competition for best band. David is also the trumpet/trombone/guitar player for BlackMahal, a San Francisco based Punjabi Funk Hop band featuring Ustad Lal Singh Bhatti ji as the lead vocalist.
