About
What do you get when you combine a degree in Political Science, a career in Military Intelligence Operations, a great personality, and an unquenchable love of all things mental? You get Ben Salinas - Mind-Bending Mentalist!
Ben has been amazing audiences for over 21 years with his unique style of mentalism. His interest began in high school after seeing a magic show by a local magician. The following years were filled with conventions, lectures, workshops, and (of course) hundreds of hours of practice. Along the way, Ben earned a degree in Political Science from Penn State University as well as diplomas from the Air Force Intelligence School and the prestigious Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California.
After working as an Intelligence Analyst/Interrogator for the U.S. Air Force, Ben spent several years living and performing in Key West, Florida where he quickly became a feature at the world famous Sloppy Joe's Bar.
While at Penn State, Ben co-founded the Penn State Performing Magicians; the first collegiate-sponsored professional magicians group. The Magicians are featured performers at the exclusive PSU Presidential Tailgates attended by University Regents, dignitaries, and the heads of major corporations. Ben and the Penn State Magicians have published 5 acclaimed books on magic for the magic community's inner circle.
Throughout 1998 & 1999 Ben was a featured performer for Caesars Resorts & Casinos. Ben has also performed on cruise ships, trains, for members of Congress, film and television stars, professional athletes, and U.S. military bases.
Ben is a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, and was recently nominated for membership in the exclusive British Magic Circle. In addition to performing, Ben has filmed over 40 instructional DVDs for professional magicians and mentalists as well as lay audiences.
When he's not busy performing, Ben enjoys playing music, languages (he speaks three), politics, martial arts (a Purple Belt in Chinese Kenpo), and his newest hobby: a beautiful 8-yr old daughter! Ben currently resides in State College, Pennsylvania and performs extensively in the PA/New Jersey/New York Tri-State area.

My performance style has been influenced by several of the great mentalists of the past including Joseph Dunninger, Uri Geller, The Amazing Kreskin, Alexander, and Theodore Annemann.

Ben's Performances take several shapes:
Stage Show: On a formal stage or dance floor before a seated audience. Also great for house parties!
Strolling: Ben strolls though your cocktail party crowd performing intimate pieces of mind reading for small groups. When Ben performs, he pulls in other standing nearby to engage in the fun, which makes a great catalyst for bringing together guests that might not have otherwise met each other.
Egyptian Name Readings / Palm Readings: Ben is seated at your event at a small table. Guests get one-on-one, 5-7 minute, readings based on Palmistry or Egyptian Symbolism in the letters of the guests' name. Each sitter gets a personalized chart of their Palm or Egyptian Name to take home.
