Why hire Bagpiper Denise Robinson?
With 35 years of experience as a bagpiper, I can provide soul-touching music for weddings, funerals or any occasion. I play a wide range of Scottish, Irish, American and world music. I will travel beyond the quad cities for a small addition to my usual fee. I have experience with law enforcement and military services, as well as indoor and outdoor weddings. I have a wardrobe of traditional Scottish military uniforms, formal dress and informal dress, all with kilts of authentic tartans. I also have long dresses for a more Celtic renaissance look.

Influences
I have learned from others' mistakes - I arrive early and wearing the appropriate outfit, so nothing is forgotten. Those who influenced me in a positive way were my instructors from Scotland, Canada & the US who taught me to play properly, to appreciate other pipers who play well, and to abhor pipers who play poorly. Just because someone can get a tune out of a bagpipe, does not mean they are a good piper.
What to Expect
I arrive early and can deal with last minute changes. I play expertly with no squeals or squawks.

Additional Notes:
I am comfortable playing indoors or outdoors. If the indoor venue is small, I will suggest that I stand in the farthest corner or possibly outside an open door. The Great Highland Bagpipes are loud and there is no volume control. I can advise you as to what will work best, but the choices are ultimately yours.
Set/Song/Sequence List:
Most of the tunes I play are Scottish or Irish. From the bride who wanted "Yankee Doodle" to the funeral request for "When The Saints Go Marching In" I can always find tunes that make my clients happy. Jigs, Straspeys, Marches, Slow Airs and Hymns are in my head and ready to play.
