Thom played at our wedding and he made the day truly memorable, unique, and special. My family is *very* proud to be Scottish (they showed up with their own full sized flag) and it was important to honor that heritage, but I wasn't sure how to go about finding the right piper. Well "The Happy Bagpiper" is not just an Instagram handle, but a perfect description of the joy Thom brought and helped inspire.
He led our entire party on a parade down Arch Street in Center City and people literally came pouring out to listen and cheer us on.

I am extremely well versed in Irish, Scottish, and other Celtic musical selections, and love to work directly with clients to tailor my performance to their particular needs and interests.
One of my heartfelt goals as a highly experienced, well-trained, and certifiably accomplished bagpiper is to educate folks about how truly amazing the bagpipe can sound. This is my essential mission. Sadly, even many people with professional training on other instruments often have only a vague idea of how a bagpipe really should sound and how it should be played. This is why I'm always ready to provide advice and help to bagpipe students and even other experienced pipers who may not have had the benefit of top-notch teachers and consistent training. The bagpipe is surely one of the noblest of all musical instruments, and whenever I play it, I am keenly aware of the great social and cultural Celtic heritage that it represents. I will continue to do my part to represent the instrument appropriately, with dignity and honor, as well as, of course, some good fun!
