Zoe Hardel

I specialize in classical cello playing. This can take many forms: from curated music for weddings, parties, and events to high level recital playing, I can tailor my playing to whatever the event calls for.

Through many years of high level playing and performing throughout America, Zoe Hardel, cellist, has developed a platform for music making in New York City. Her most recent notable performance achievement is with Carnegie Hall’s New York String Orchestra, performing two sold out concerts of Beethoven and Mozart in the Isaac Stern auditorium. Other performances include the first 2 Bach suites in concert for the Portland Bach Experience, a European tour with NEC’s premiere youth orchestra under conductor David Loebel, and a performance with the Portland String Quartet for the inauguration of Maine’s current governor Janet Mills, among others. She has attended several summer festivals including Bowdoin International Music Festival, Montecito International Music Festival, Meadowmount School of Music, and formerly Interlochen Arts Camp, and was the recipient of the Katherine Graffman scholarship award as well as the Johnson music scholarship. Zoe has played for and studied with well known cello figures such as Lynn Harrell, Hannah Roberts, David Geber, and Steven Doane. She received a bachelors degree in cello performance from the Manhattan School of Music in 2024, and continues to study with Julia Lichten of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra.
