Award-winning composer and accomplished multi-instrumentalist Amy Denio has a four-octave voice, and is a highly sought after for her skills playing Accordion, Saxophone and Clarinet. She has toured world-wide since 1987, playing festivals, clubs, museums, squats and other resonant spaces. She was inducted into the Seattle Jazz Hall of Fame for her fresh approach to music-making.

What to expect
Amy is a seasoned musician, a top-notch performer, and willing to sculpt her performance to your needs.
Solo, she prefers playing her beautiful compositions for accordion, guitar, voice and looping. But she is open to expand her repertoire to include a few pieces that the client would like to hear.
Denio is comfortable working in all settings ~ to play her world music repertoire at a club date or festival, or to provide instrumental music for a wedding or any other ceremonial occasion.
As a collaborator, she loves playing all styles of music and is a quick learner.

About
Amy Denio (rhymes with ‘Ohio’) is an award-winning singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist, improviser, recording engineer and record producer. Since releasing No Bones in 1986, she has composed, recorded, and produced more than 600 compositions on Spoot Music. She was inducted into the Earshot Jazz Hall of Fame in 2015.
Denio plays ~ and teaches ~ voice, piano, accordion, alto sax, clarinet, baritone horn, cello, ukulele, guitar, bass, theremin, composition and improvisation.
Festivals around the world invite her to play her beautiful songs as a solo artist ~ and she is in high demand to perform and record with Pop, jazz, folk, industrial, punk and world music ensembles. Her ear is impeccable!
Denio has been commissioned to create soundtracks for film, dance, theater, television, radio and sound installations worldwide.
Co-founder of bass duo Tone Dogs ((phone number hidden)1) and the innovative all-women Tiptons Sax Quartet (1988-present), Amy has collaborated with Balkan punk metal folk sextet Kultur Shock since 1999, and Latin American duo Correo Aereo since 2004. She is Queen and producer of Mediterranean sextet OU (‘egg’ in Sardinian) and has created new work for innovative music ensembles on five continents.
She was active on the board of Seattle Composers Alliance and served as Vice President from 2016 – 2023.
She also enjoys photography, yoga, practicing reiki, and forest bathing in the 350-acre nature preserve adjacent to her home in North Kitsap County. Fluent in Italian, her bi-lingual book of travel stories will be published in 2025, in conjunction with the 40th Anniversary of her record label, Spoot Music.
