Overview

Ben Killoy is a keynote speaker who helps leaders and teams build cultures people never want to leave. A Marine veteran turned operations leader turned executive coach, he names what most organizations are too busy to face. Your best people are quietly checking out, and no perk or policy will bring them back. In signature talks like The Secret Ingredient to a Magnetic Culture, Ben hands leaders a mirror, the questions that expose their blind spots, and a practical path to activate the people around them. Audiences leave engaged, challenged, and ready to act. For planners, he is the rare keynoter who tailors every message to the room and delivers value that outlasts the event.

What to expect

From the moment Ben takes the stage, the room feels different. This is not a lecture or a recycled motivational set. It is a real conversation that happens to be taking place in front of a few hundred people. Ben tells true stories, asks the questions most leaders quietly avoid, and holds up a mirror that helps people see what is really keeping their culture stuck. There is honesty. There is humor. And there are moments that land in the gut and stay there. Audiences do not just nod along and forget it by lunch. They lean in, they take notes, and they leave ready to lead differently the next morning.

What makes it work is that Ben has lived every side of the room. He served in the Marine Corps, with time stationed in Okinawa, where he learned what it means to lead when the stakes are real. He moved into engineering and operations leadership inside companies like Generac, where he watched talented teams quietly fall apart while every chart still looked green. And he hit his own low point, rebuilt his life around a simple idea, and has spent the years since helping other leaders do the same. He is not performing a message he read in a book. He is teaching what he has actually walked through.

What Makes Ben Different
Most keynote speakers hand audiences another tactic, another framework, another list of things to do. Ben goes the other direction. His entire message is built on one belief that changes how a room thinks about leadership. Lasting change in any team flows from who a leader is becoming, not just what that leader is doing. He calls it identity before tactics. When leaders stop performing and start leading from who they actually are, culture follows, retention follows, and the people around them come back to life.
That is what Ben does best. He activates people. He gives leaders the mirror, the honest questions, and the language to see their own blind spots, then sends them home with a clear path to put it into practice. It is practical, it is human, and it is impossible to sit through passively.

Signature Talks
Ben's flagship keynote, The Secret Ingredient to a Magnetic Culture, tackles the problem most organizations feel but cannot name. When your best people stop referring their friends and your strongest leaders start quietly checking out, the problem is not your perks or your policies. It is something deeper. In this talk, audiences walk away with a leadership mirror, the questions that uncover their blind spots, and a clear way to build a culture people genuinely want to be part of. The secret, as Ben puts it, is not about what is missing. It is about who is missing.

Every talk is shaped around the audience in the room, whether that is a leadership team, a company wide gathering, an industry conference, or a private offsite. Ben works comfortably with executives and frontline leaders alike, and he is especially at home with the operations, manufacturing, construction, and trades audiences that have no patience for fluff.

Working With Ben
For the planner who books him, Ben is a true partner from the very first call. He takes the time to learn your theme, your people, and the real challenge you are trying to solve, then shapes the message to fit your event instead of forcing your event to fit his message. He communicates early and often, shows up prepared, and is refreshingly easy to work with from the first email to the final handshake. Planners do not have to chase him, manage him, or wonder how he will land. He makes your job easier, and he makes you look good for choosing him.

The value does not walk out the door when the applause ends. Every audience leaves with practical tools and a clear next step, not just a feeling that fades by the parking lot. The result is a keynote that earns its place on your agenda and a speaker your attendees keep talking about long after the event is over.

Who This Is For
Ben is a strong fit for organizations ready to look past surface-level fixes and have an honest conversation about culture, leadership, and what it takes to keep great people. If you want a speaker who is polished but real, who challenges without preaching, and who leaves your audience both moved and equipped to act, Ben Killoy belongs on your stage.

About

Ben, a native of a Southern Wisconsin farm, took his early steps in the disciplined ranks of the United States Marine Corps right after high school. But after hanging up his uniform in 2007, he faced the most challenging mission yet: crafting a fulfilling role as a family man, leader, and proud Veteran in a world where life often seemed good on paper but felt lacking in depth.

Amidst life's trials – college dropouts, job losses, and the complexities of family – Ben discovered his True North. That deep-rooted sense of direction and purpose became his guiding star.

Today, as the voice behind two insightful podcasts, a dedicated author, and an engaging speaker, Ben bridges his audiences to the deeper callings of life, urging them to seek beyond surface contentment.

With a compass attuned to authentic living, he's on a mission to guide others in navigating life's challenges, helping them find their own True North and design a life truly worth every moment.
