What to expect

Keynote/Motivational Speaker/Social Justice seminar - With 15 years experience to share, I have a wealth of knowledge for front line workers who want to learn how to better assist their clients or patients, I can give an interesting and often unknown history of Queer folks in NS to motivate your audience into overcoming their own hurdles, and I can talk about my experience with politics, both as an advocate pushing for legislative changes to better my community, but also as a former Federal Candidate wanting to make change from inside the current system.

Expect to laugh and to learn!

About

Jesiah MacDonald is a young man from rural Nova Scotia. He started his physical gender transition in 2008 with hormone replacement therapy. After being forcibly ejected from a hospital following a non-transition related surgery, Jesiah filed a Human Rights complaint that provided great traction for the transgender rights movement in Nova Scotia. Recognized by Nova Scotia Rainbow Action Project in 2012 with the Raymond Taavel Media award, he has led over educational workshops for the past 15 years throughout NS.
Jesiah was a Candidate in the 2025 General Election.
He is an easy going guy with a sense of humour that has helped him through many adversities, and to make significant changes for the larger Queer community province-wide. Passionate about helping people through education, NS Queer history, harm reduction, gender, and politics, Jesiah gives a fresh and unique perspective that is sure to be thought provoking and spark many conversations at your next event.
