Tom Leighton

Tom Leighton is the Virginia-born frontman of his Island Rock band, Righteous Roots. Formed in Central Virginia in 2022, Righteous Roots infuses elements of rock, reggae, and dub. Tom has performed solo and with his band at hundreds events across 8 states. In 2024, Righteous Roots opened for HR of Bad Brains. In 2025, Tom worked as music supervisor for the romantic comedy, Boardwalk Winter (filmed in Virginia Beach). When Tom performs solo acoustic he utilizes live-looping and beatboxing techniques, while playing both soulful originals and tasteful covers in his own Island Rock style.
