Influences and inspiration

Rooted in jazz harmony, composition, and improvisation — influenced by Monk, Miles Davis, Coltrane, and the great jazz masters. Grew up going to Grateful Dead and Allman Brothers concerts, which led to founding Dead Meat, one of the Northeast's top Grateful Dead tribute acts.
Equally influenced by Motown, soul, and funk — Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, James Brown — and the full American songbook: Sinatra, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, and beyond. All 20th century American music lives somewhere in my playing.
The result is a guitarist and vocalist who can genuinely move between styles and read what any room needs.
