Jazz on pedal steel guitar and then switching to violin to finish the song, Timothy Michaels has won awards for singing and instrumentals.
Jazz, blues, folk and other styles are all covered from solo classical acoustic guitar nestled between full band arrangements using pedal steel, violin, flute, guitar leads and his distinct bluesy vocals. This digital and live music mix is presented to the listener As only a true one man band can do it.
When performing his music live, you may find yourself also doing as friends and fans of the past have reported: involuntarily mouthing the mantra “hearing really is believing!”

Since I was a young child, that one thing I wanted to do was play music. It really had nothing to do with performance or being the “star.” But it was that stimulation that went on in my head when I listened, especially to classical music. It was my “rush.”
My mom & dad are both players and still play all the time. My dad started me out by just tapping on a beanbag ashtray with a butter knife to the rhythm of his accordion. They were really into country music: Ernest Tubb, Hank Snow and such. We played waltzes and polkas, schottisches and country. After mastering beanbag ashtray I started learning drums and violin, which lead to bass and then to guitar and keyboards. About thirty years back I started to study pedal steel guitar. Pedal Steel is composed of musically whining liquid emotions, it’s the honey thick sound spelling out the melodies in a lot of my music. It is a very unusual sound that some folks become extremely addicted to. About six years back I was given a nylon string classical guitar. I play that thing constantly although after playing electric and acoustic guitars since about five years of age I still found classical to be an incredible challenge. Yet, as with all the instruments I have accomplished, I still get the same rush in my brain from it all.
Here is a list of the instruments I perform to performance level: pedal steel in a universal tuning, lead, acoustic, classical and bass guitar, drums, violin, flute and I putts with keyboards in the studio. I am also very strong in electronics with an Associates Degree plus production and sound engineering. When I perform I often use digitally recorded mixes of instruments I play in my studio and transfer this down to a small stomp box to use when performing live.
I’ve written tons of music, produced ads for radio, produced books on CD with lots of background music, won awards for singing and composition. I have worked hard to bring my performance to a level where it’s not just me playing guitar but a finely honed set up of skills, instrumentation and sound system with the hope that those who listen will get that same rush from the music I get.
That briefly covers a bio and here's a short description of what you get when you hire me:
I am a journeyman, professional career musician, who has experience. I have performed in many bands, as a soloist, at weddings, clubs and other events. I am on time, dress conservative and portray a service-orientated attitude. Your events success with respect to its music becomes my focus and goal. I have a custom set up with a footprint a little larger them a standard keyboardist. I do not use off-base language or provocative ideas in my show. My music has a greater portion of instrumentals then vocals. I am very cognizant of the volume, but I do also have a system that can develop high volume with low distortion. If you choose me for my music you will also enjoy my business demeanor.
