What to expect

A solo musician who performs well on pedal steel guitar with back up tracks and singing. I am a journeyman, professional career musician, who has much experience. I have performed in many bands, as a soloist, at weddings, clubs, parties and other events. I am on time, dress conservative, communicate and portray a service-orientated attitude. I do not use off-base language or provocative ideas in my show. Your events success with respect to its music becomes my focus and goal. I have a custom set up with a footprint a little larger them a standard keyboardist plus sound system. I will bring a sound system unless it is provided, and if it is an outdoor event i will bring cover. (10' X 10') I require a 110V outlet and will bring up to 200' of AC cable if needed. My music is a mix of commercial and independent songs usually performed on pedal steel, back up tracks of myself on real instruments mostly with vocals at the volume you desire. If you choose me for my music it will be accompanied by a "service for you" business demeanor.

About

Since I was a young child, that one thing I always wanted to do was play music. It really had nothing to do with seeking a dollar or being the “star.” But it was that stimulation that went on in my head when I listened to music. It was my “rush!”
My mom & dad were both players and still play all the time. My dad started me out by having me tap on a beanbag ashtray with a butter knife to the rhythm of his accordion. They were really into country music: Ernest Tubb, Hank Snow and such. We played waltzes and polkas, and country music. While mastering beanbag ashtray, I started learning drums and violin, which lead to bass and then to guitar and keyboards. About forty years back I started to study pedal steel guitar.
Pedal Steel is a very complex and difficult instrument to learn. It's sounds are composed of musically whirling sounds like liquid emotions, it’s the honey thick sound spelling out the melodies in music. A sound like a freight train coming threw the mist in the mountains. You most likely have heard this sound but do not know where it comes from. This is a very unusual sound that once heard, folks become extremely addicted to. And to find a player that is well schooled in this instrument is very rare. After countless hours of practice, I now perform country, jazz and pop on this instrument while singing.
Here is a list of the real instruments you will hear when I perform: lead, acoustic, classical and bass guitars, a full drum set, violin, and occasional keyboards. I am very strong in electronics holding an Associates Degree and running a recording studio since about 1977. When I perform now I use digitally recorded mixes of instruments I've played and recorded live in my studio and transfer this down to a small stomp box to use when performing live. This is as close as anyone can get to being a true "one man band."
I’ve also written tons of music, produced ads for radio, produced books on CD using my music in the background, while winning awards for singing and composition. I have worked hard to bring my performance to a level where it’s not just some guy playing well, but with the full sound of a true band of live instrumentation and using a sound system of the highest fidelity in the hope that those who listen will get that same rush from the music I get. Please let me come to your event and perform this for you.
