Overview
With nearly two decades of experience in the instructional industry, it is my mission to help others 1) overcome burnout, 2) encourage them to apply stoic principles and practices to their daily lives, and 3) empower them to embrace their profession with purpose.
I have experience as a teacher, instructional coach, adjunct professor, school principal, and, most recently, director at an EdTech nonprofit. I'm also the founder of Socratic Life Daily, a content creation hub centered on motivating, challenging, and encouraging others to live differently.
My talks cover 1) burnout, 2) approaching your profession Socratically, 3) working with purpose, and 4) learning agility.

Hi, my name is John Morrison and I have a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Oklahoma.
I am a career educator serving in roles ranging from classroom teacher to instructional coach to principal to director at a nonprofit startup.
I am married with two daughters and live in Colorado. I love reading, writing, running, watching documentaries, and collecting retro video games. Every year I try to complete a Spartan Trifecta and finish at least one ultramarathon.
My love of philosophy and lifelong learning prompted me to found Polis & Praxis Press, a publishing house focused on philosophy and progressive politics.
I post content on TikTok, Substack, Instagram, X, Facebook, and YouTube to over 110,000 followers and have been working on several more books to help introduce life-changing concepts to normal people (i.e. "non-philosophers").
