Adair Finucane, LMSW
Overview
I bring a somatic (body-based) approach to helping teams unwind stress, prevent burnout, and expand their capacity for co-creating a freer, more loving world.
Nervous system states are contagious — meaning that the vibe each colleague brings into a room directly impacts team performance and workplace culture. My interactive keynotes teach teams to feel their nervous systems down-regulating in real time with somatic & breath-based microhabits. Co-regulated nervous systems aren't an added perk; they're a core foundation of every effective skill, strategy, and leadership goal.
Offerings include:
- Interactive keynotes & workshops
- Wellness days & ongoing team wellness
- Retreats

June 23, 2022Great Speaker and easy to work with!
Adair collaborated with me to understand the right topics/sessions to offer at LSI's Wellness Event. Her presentations and her style were perfect for our group: relaxed atmosphere and straight to the point. Adair put together a great handout for each session that employees could refer to in order to practice what they learned. We received all great feedback from our employees who attended her sessions.

❓❓What makes my offerings special?❓❓
❌ The issue: After the meeting or crisis ends, fear, & tension are stored in our bodies — unless we have the skillset to metabolize them.
⬇️
🙏🏻 The theme: Integration over interruption. 60-minute yoga classes are great, but not always practical. I teach deep nervous system restoration & Somatic Microhabits. SM’s can be brought into meetings, time with clients, and in moments of transition.
⬇️
🫀 The approach: Body-first & trauma-informed. Traditional professional development takes a mental tact. My offerings are body first, mixing depth with play. We free up the physiological "stuckness" that prevents healthy communication and effectiveness at work. When your team members have the skills to truly be present in the moment, they feel safer, everyone works better together.
⬇️
🎛️ Somatic control panel. I help teams find the "buttons and switches" of their wellbeing. They learn to drop into what they’re feeling in the moment to process stress in real time.
⬇️
⛓️💥 Collective Liberation. My work acknowledges how we embody & are harmed by systems of oppression. Somatics buffer against burnout and help us unlearn systemic oppression from the inside out. We’re expanding our capacity to co-create a freer, more loving world.
About
Hi, I’m Adair Finucane. Imagine a world where everyone you interact with has the ability to a) be aware of the state of their nervous system, and b) several quick habits to choose from to regulate said nervous system.
That's the world I'm working to build! I’m a trauma-informed facilitator who bridges the clinical, the systemic, the playful, & the somatic. I bring a nervous-system-first approach to organizational and team wellbeing because when we understand how the state of our nervous systems impacts us as individuals *and* the people around us, we gain a superpower lens. Through simple somatic (body-based) practices and attention to breathing, you can discharge stress, protect our energy, and bring a contagious sense of presence to any room you're in.
I've worked with clients like UNICEF Canada, the University of Rochester, the U of R's Highland Hospital, The United Way, and Fordham University to help bridge the connections between self-care and organizational wellbeing. I also work with teachers and professors, students of all ages, teams supporting with domestic violence victims, and companies in the manufacturing sector.
All of this is informed by professional background as a trauma & perinatal mental health researcher, trauma therapist, yoga & meditation teacher, Ayurvedic wellness coach, and multidisciplinary artist and performer — as well as lived experience as a queer, neurodivergent mom.
