Overview

I bring a somatic (body-based) approach to helping teams unwind stress, prevent burnout, and expand their capacity for co-creating a freer, more loving world.

Nervous system states are contagious — meaning that the vibe each colleague brings into a room directly impacts team performance and workplace culture. My interactive keynotes teach teams to feel their nervous systems down-regulating in real time with somatic & breath-based microhabits. Co-regulated nervous systems aren't an added perk; they're a core foundation of every effective skill, strategy, and leadership goal.

Offerings include:
- Interactive keynotes & workshops
- Wellness days & ongoing team wellness
- Retreats

A Pleasure to have Adair

It was a pleasure to have Adair lead our group in a mindfulness exercise before the beginning of our meeting. It created a sense of wellbeing and grounded our team of Mental Health professionals. It set the tone for a wonderful evening and everyone appreciated having her share her practice. Thanks Adair!

Great Speaker and easy to work with!

Adair collaborated with me to understand the right topics/sessions to offer at LSI's Wellness Event. Her presentations and her style were perfect for our group: relaxed atmosphere and straight to the point. Adair put together a great handout for each session that employees could refer to in order to practice what they learned. We received all great feedback from our employees who attended her sessions.

What to expect

When you book me for your conference, retreat, or workplace event, your audience won't be getting a lecture. They'll be invited to participate in an engaging, interactive opportunity to practice the tools they’re learning about. I want to help you and your people to your expand your capacity for co-creating a freer, more loving world.

👀 What your audience will see and experience:

🪩 An authentic, approachable delivery: I combine a clinical/research background with a lighthearted, grounded speaking style that puts people at ease. (Fun fact: When I'm not doing this type of work, I sing in Radio Americano, a bilingual Spanish/English cover band featuring of 70s classics and millennial favorites 💃🏽).

🪩 Live, real-time practice: Attendees won't just learn about nervous system regulation — they will have the opportunity to participate in guided, gentle micro-practices (simple breathing techniques, grounding exercises, and somatic resets) right from their seats.

🪩 A high-energy, relatable atmosphere: I prioritize participants' sense of safety and choice. They feel comfortable asking questions, sharing experiences, and laughing along the way.

📋 What you (the organizer) will get:

🪩 Seamless pre-event coordination: A planning call to align on your event’s specific themes, audience demographics, and goals.

🪩 Customized content & takeaways: Tailored presentation slides and a printed QR codes leading to a PDF linked with guided audio and video practices for nervous system regulation that your attendees can return to after the session.

🪩 Punctual, professional delivery: A smooth, friendly speaker experience from setup to end, so you can focus on running the rest of your event.

Workshop/talk topics:
- Somatic Processing
- Microhabits: Self- & co-regulation for helpers (note: can be adjusted for any audience)
- Skills for overcoming burnout, vicarious trauma, & compassion fatigue
- Let's Talk Trauma - an "101-style" educational workshop on trauma, its impact, and ways to heal
- Trauma-informed care as a daily practice

Don't see exactly what you're looking for, but have a hunch that I can be helpful to you and your people? I love working with event coordinators to learn the specific needs of their organization, and create an offering that's tailored to their objectives.

"I liked the language and attention given to the human experience. Adair put the wonders I have about the connection between mind, body, and spirit into actionable and palatable practice, validating my own experience."
- Somatic workshop participant

❓❓What makes my offerings special?❓❓

❌ The issue: After the meeting or crisis ends, fear, & tension are stored in our bodies — unless we have the skillset to metabolize them.
⬇️
🙏🏻 The theme: Integration over interruption. 60-minute yoga classes are great, but not always practical. I teach deep nervous system restoration & Somatic Microhabits. SM’s can be brought into meetings, time with clients, and in moments of transition.
⬇️
🫀 The approach: Body-first & trauma-informed. Traditional professional development takes a mental tact. My offerings are body first, mixing depth with play. We free up the physiological "stuckness" that prevents healthy communication and effectiveness at work. When your team members have the skills to truly be present in the moment, they feel safer, everyone works better together.
⬇️
🎛️ Somatic control panel. I help teams find the "buttons and switches" of their wellbeing. They learn to drop into what they’re feeling in the moment to process stress in real time.
⬇️
⛓️‍💥 Collective Liberation. My work acknowledges how we embody & are harmed by systems of oppression. Somatics buffer against burnout and help us unlearn systemic oppression from the inside out. We’re expanding our capacity to co-create a freer, more loving world.

About

Hi, I’m Adair Finucane. Imagine a world where everyone you interact with has the ability to a) be aware of the state of their nervous system, and b) several quick habits to choose from to regulate said nervous system.

That's the world I'm working to build! I’m a trauma-informed facilitator who bridges the clinical, the systemic, the playful, & the somatic. I bring a nervous-system-first approach to organizational and team wellbeing because when we understand how the state of our nervous systems impacts us as individuals *and* the people around us, we gain a superpower lens. Through simple somatic (body-based) practices and attention to breathing, you can discharge stress, protect our energy, and bring a contagious sense of presence to any room you're in.

I've worked with clients like UNICEF Canada, the University of Rochester, the U of R's Highland Hospital, The United Way, and Fordham University to help bridge the connections between self-care and organizational wellbeing. I also work with teachers and professors, students of all ages, teams supporting with domestic violence victims, and companies in the manufacturing sector.

All of this is informed by professional background as a trauma & perinatal mental health researcher, trauma therapist, yoga & meditation teacher, Ayurvedic wellness coach, and multidisciplinary artist and performer — as well as lived experience as a queer, neurodivergent mom.
