This family of exceptional Musicians put on 1.5 hours of excellent music for my family at our Memorial Day/Birthday Party. They had us tapping our toes throughout and their mix of Bluegrass Old and New was excellent. We are for sure repeat customers of this band.

The four-piece band showcases the talents of three-time Tennessee State Flat-pick Guitar champion, Andrew Rigney and Grant Rigney (2012 Alabama State Fiddle Champion and Tennessee State Junior Fiddle Champion). Their unique, appealing blend of family vocal harmonies and innovative bluegrass instrumentation exemplifies everything that is right about family playing together.
The band is on the Nashville, TN-based Dark Shadow Recording record label, and they have won several awards including 2012 winner of the Bluegrass Band Contest at both the Uncle Dave Macon Days Festival (home of the National Old-Time Banjo contest) and the 2012 Bluegrass Band Contest at the Tennessee State Old-Time Fiddle Championship.

The Rigneys’ latest project, Double or Nothing, was released by Dark Shadow Recording on September 10, 2013. It was produced by Stephen Mougin, label-owner and guitarist for the Sam Bush Band. Noted musician and journalist, John Weisberger, describes it as “straight-ahead contemporary bluegrass, with some sly references to tradition, and some beautiful material that makes it home in the fertile ground between bluegrass, country and folk. The title track was selected for IBMA's 2013 Songwriter Showcase. The CD has also claimed a spot on the Bluegrass Today and Roots Music charts for the last several months.
Band members include Mark (banjo, vocals), Melissa (bass), Andy (guitar, vocals), and Grant (fiddle, mandolin, vocals). Andy is currently serving as the IBMA Youth Council President. He was also recently featured in the September 2013 issue of Flatpicking Guitar Magazine. Both Andy and Grant have a long list of accomplishments under their belts, and additional information is available on their web site.
