I am a singer, songwriter, and piano player. I play originals and cover songs in my own unique New Orleans R&B style. My music has been described as Norah Jones, Ella Fitzgerald, meets Adele, and Alicia Keys. Many people have said my music reminds them of Postmodern Jukebox.
My repertoire of cover songs range from the 1920s up to current era songs.
Family obligations brought me to the Pacific Northwest. Prior to that, I was a working/touring musician based in New Orleans.

May 5, 2025Hiring The Philosopher's Daughter was a perfect decision for the party I hosted! From the start, they communicated promptly and easily with their needs and expectations. On the day of the party, they arrived early to familiarize themselves with the space and equipment, and to get warmed up. The quality of the music and their presence was enjoyable and authentically New Orleans. I highly recommend The Philosopher's Daughter!

You can expect to hear me play primarily as a piano/singer solo artist, although I can put a duo or trio together if you like. My originals and covers are in the New Orleans R&B style, i.e. jazz infused blues. I can do concert venues solo, or with a band, and can play background piano (no vocals), all with a soulful New Orleans R&B twist.
I have traveled from California to New York, Cuba and France, playing with and learning from the masters of my craft. I ultimately landed in New Orleans, where the city’s unique R&B style was a perfect fit.
In New Orleans, under the name Heidijo Music, I performed and/or recorded with numerous well known musicians. However, my main venue is as a single piano player and singer.
As a solo pianist I can bring everything needed for small and medium-sized rooms. Or, simply tie into a sound system if available, or if it's a large venue. The same as above for a duo or trio.
