Bob Hoover In Concert

I've always believed that laughter and music are some of the best ways that God ever gave for communicating hope and encouragement. So I use both of these when I present my concerts - "Bob Hoover in Concert", which are a combination of Music, Stand-up Comedy and Ventriloquism.

The goal in presenting these concerts is to encourage and inspire believers. They also provide a friendly environment for non-believers to hear the Gospel message, supported by scripture and my personal testimony in a non-threatening form. I received Jesus Christ into my heart when I was 7 years old and have been following Him ever since: doing whatever I can to shine His Light and spread "The Good News".

These concerts are a fun, entertaining, toe tappin', hand clappin', belly laughin', positive good time. *They are a great tool for outreach to your community.

I am able to tailor make the concerts to fit your situation; whether you have a Special Event for the whole church, or whether it's something for a smaller group.

All my concerts are "kid friendly", and have something for everybody. Though most of the humor is aimed at the adults, I find that the kids are giggling and laughing just as much, while always focusing on the source of our joy, Jesus Christ.

Bob Hoover - Bio

Bob's entertainment journey began back in Spokane Washington, while as a child he enjoyed music and drama in his home church. He soon discovered that musical groups that incorporated comedy into their performances were his favorites, and which upon hearing the Gospel message, he received Jesus Christ into his heart at the age of 7.

He had a flare for entertaining right from the get-go, and found joy in cracking up his elementary schoolmates with goofy sound impressions and also performing puppet shows.

After Bob graduated from Eastern Washington University with degrees in Music.Ed. and Music Composition, he taught music and coached sports for 8 years in the Seattle area. While there, he also directed music at his local church, and was a youth pastor for three years.

He is advanced in singing, playing the piano, trombone, bass guitar and harmonica; is a musical arm virtuoso, and has performed professionally as a ventriloquist since high school. He also writes, arranges and orchestrates music.

Bob moved to Los Angeles 23 years ago, and in the last 20 years he has performed hundreds of shows for "Mad Science" at a variety of Events in the greater Los Angeles area, combining science and stand-up comedy.

Over the years he has developed concerts that he calls “Bob Hoover In Concert”, where he enjoys combining music, stand-up comedy and ventriloquism, and has performed for many different venues across the country.

Bob now enjoys living back in his hometown of Spokane, and is focusing all his time and energy towards his concert presentations, as well as being involved with recording music for Christian ministry.

For local concerts I am able to bring my own sound system. However I prefer to use the venue's sound system if it is more feasible.

When I use air travel I need to have a sound system available at the venue along with a sound technician.

I don't have any requirements for special lighting or staging.
