About
San Francisco Bay Area Irish band, The Gas Men were formed in 1995. After meeting at various music sessions around the city, the band got together and started to play gigs. Starting out, the band was fronted by singer, Orla Morrison and they were then know as, Orla and The Gas Men. Orla and her husband Richard, who played guitar with the band, moved back to Ireland some years later. Down through the years, band members have included, Jimmy O'Meara (guitar, vocals), Colm O'Riain (fiddle), Dana Lynn (fiddle), Michael Stack (fiddle), Deborah Simon (fiddle) and John Caulfield (fiddle). Current band members are: Vince Keehan (mandolin, guitar, vocals), Kenny Somerville (banjo, mandolin, vocals), Cormac Gannon (bodhran, guitar, vocals, pipes), Kyle Alden (guitar, vocals, fiddle, banjo) and sometimes joined by Vinnie Cronin (flute, whistles), Barry O'Connell (accordion, vocals).
