Overview

Powerhouse vocals, wide range, soulful sounds - these are just some of the ways my voice has been described! With musical theater roots and a funny personality, I guarantee that not only will you and your audience be entertained but you will have lasting memories of the experience. Not only am I a singer who has covered songs from Chaka Khan and Prince to Pink and LeAnn Rimes, but since I got my start in musical theater, I also have the ability to act and bring characters and a story to life. I am capable of singing many genres of music and creating unique characters for live or voice over performances. I look forward to working with you soon!

What to expect

If you need someone who can capture an audiences attention with the power of their voice then look no further. If you need someone who can convey the emotion of a role, be it as a character or as a singer, then I'm the one you want. If you want your character to feel like someone to whom you can relate, then I am what you need.

Not only am I capable of bringing back memories of when you may have first heard that song or saw that show, but I also have the ability to make you see new perspective. I communicate with you to make sure the product is what you are looking for but I also listen to what you are trying to say. I even communicate with the audience by making them laugh and trying to relate to them in an effort to make them forget about their everyday lives for just a short time while they are enjoying the show.

To put things plainly, when you hire me, you are going to get powerhouse vocals, soulful sounds, storytelling, character development, and an all around great moment to remember for a long time. This effect works across the board whether you hire me to sing, to act, or to bring life into your animated character. As for my personality, I am easy to talk to, able to listen, and professional above all with a splash comedy in there when needed. My goal is to make our time together fun, simple, and memorable.

About

Hello! I'm Tierra Strickland but my stage name is Sweet T! I have been performing since the age of nine and I have been on a stage or in some level of performance every year ever since. These days I have been in my fair share of concerts and cabarets however, I got my start in musical theater. Some of my favorite shows I have done include "The Wiz", The Color Purple", Shrek the Musical", and "Oliver". I have even done two of my own concerts, "Flavors of Sweet T" and "This is a Man's World". In 2006, I worked for Disney World as a Character Attendant and I read announcements in character voices around the park. I am currently at Full Sail University Online for Music Production and I am in the Honor Society (NSCS). I plan on graduating in September 2025 with my second Bachelor's degree and then going right back into the program for animation to hopefully acquire a third degree. My first degree was in Urban Arts with a focus in Theater. I have a combine total of about 8 years of cruise experience. I love performing and creating; it is my true passion and what I believe I was born to do! Some people who have heard me sing have compared my voice to some of the greats like Chaka Khan and Aretha Franklin and although I have covered both of these artists, I have also sung many genres of music and covered many different artists like Pink, LeAnn Rimes, Bishop Briggs, Prince, Khalid, Noah Jones, Whitney Houston, Phyllis Hyman, and Jill Scott. I am interested in getting into voice over as well because I love the idea that I could bring an animated character to life with my own voice and I have plenty of character voices to back it up. I am also willing to create and collaborate ideas for projects if needed. Please feel free to reach out to me if there is any interest in anything I have to offer!

Additional booking notes

Notes about me:
I am a soprano, but I have deep notes in my voice as well (C3 - C6)

Notes about what I need:
For singing - a microphone, XLR, mixer, speaker, a sound tech or someone in charge of the event, a clear space to perform (section of the area dedicated to your entertainment for the event), water. (If any number of these things can not be provided, I am able to provide them for a higher fee)

For acting - a script (preferable beforehand but understood if that is not possible), a performance space, a space to change (in the event costumes are provided), an offstage area (to change or prep) water

For voice acting - a microphone, cables, mixer and software, a sound proof space (from a tabletop booth to a studio space), a script, water. (If this is a project that is to be done in my own space then none of the above need to be provided)
