Sweet Crimson was definitely the highlight of my Burlington Ribfest experience! This was the 2nd time I have seen them. All of the musicians are so incredibly talented! They got everyone up and dancing. When I say everyone, I mean everyone of all ages and types. The energy was really great and something to see. I really enjoyed how well the singer interacts with the crowd. I look forward to seeing them play again! Thanks again for the great show!
Response from Sweet Crimson:
Hey thanks for the review!

Our artists offer more than just the simple rock/pop cover! The set lists are well rounded depending on the venue and audience; we strive to play songs that people know, and can dance to, and at the same time, are not as mainstream as typical rock/pop covers.
Our band is unique in that it offers female rock and pop (covering only female rock and pop artists), as well as regular rock and pop cover from multiple male and female artists; some venues require a more quiet, intimate setting such as a wedding or high-end restaurant; we provide an acoustic set list for such special occasions.
Every event is special! Contact us and we can customize your event according to your specialized needs.
OUR ARTISTS
Multiple years of experience coming at you from 1 single group!
• Lead Vocals: Barbara Mowder • Bass and Back-up Vocals: Roger Bruce
• Keyboard, Back-up Vocals: Keith Summers • Lead Guitarist: Jacek Baran
• Drummer: Dave Nieuwland
Barb studied vocals at the Ontario Conservatory of Music, where she developed a solid musical foundation upon which to build her career. Music was always a huge part of her life. In her childhood years, Barb tried various instruments, including the Clarinet, Saxaphone, Flute, Trumpet, French Horn, Baritone, Trombone, and even the Tuba. She decided to hone in on her vocals. Her vocal career started at a very early age where she was a soloist soprano in various choirs in Toronto, and performed in a musical entitled "The Rose". "When I was 15, my father would take me to the local pub and ask the band to include me up on the stage; they would hand me a mic, and I'd sing Kenny Rogers and Ann Murray songs. This was the ONLY time I ever sang Country!"
"Singing has always been my true passion, and always will be. I love getting lost in the music".
Jacek started playing the guitar when he was 14 years old and hasn't stopped since!
Later on he began to play bass, keyboard and drums, but guitar has always been his most loved instrument.
Everything he listens to directs his musical development in some way. However, he would certainly include Deep Purple, Led Zep, The Police, Vai, SRV, Dream Theater, Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, Marillion, ELP, Van Halen, Hendrix, Beatles, jazz and classical music as amongst his biggest influences.
Throughout the years Jack has played in many hard rock, progressive rock and blues bands in Poland, Italy and Canada.
Keith took classical piano lessons for years before discovering that he enjoyed playing and composing rock, pop and blues songs even more. He has worked with solo singers and musical theatre groups and is now happy to be playing keys with Sweet Crimson. His influences include piano rock legends like Billy Joel and Jonathan Cain, Ray Charles and master songcrafters like Burt Bacharach and Marvin Hamlisch. While he loves to spend time in the studio recording his own work, nothing matches the thrill of playing for live audiences.
Roger loves nothing more (musically) than laying down a groovin’ bass line for the band to build around- add lead or backing vocals to the mix and he’s a happy man. While his heart lies in hard rock, virtually every genre gets his foot tapping and fingers moving on the fretboard (as the saying goes: “there’s only two kinds of music I don’t like- Country AND Western”).
After starting his musical journey over 30 years ago with woodwind instruments (clarinet, saxophone), the lure of rock proved too tempting- he decided to learn how to play guitar. Self-taught on six-string, Geddy Lee’s creativity drew Roger to electric bass guitar… and he hasn’t looked back, plying his trade in a variety of bands and genres both live and in the recording studio.
In addition to exposing his kids to music created before “dubstep”, Roger currently holds down the bottom end and provides lead and backing vocals in three bands playing primarily Classic Rock with Blues and mainstream Pop sprinkled on for seasoning.
Dave played his first gig at Bridgeman's Halloween bash some 20 years ago and hasn't stopped since. He played for years with Eargasm, covering Pink Floyd to Led Zeppelin, and was also playing as a live karaoke stage band, covering over 160 tunes. Dave is all energy, and one of the most enthusiastic drummers around. Influences include Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Harley, and Davidson, and is a total master of the double kick!
We also provide our own sound and lighting.
