We booked Professional Folk (male and female vocals, acoustic guitar, fiddle, upright bass, trumpet, sax and percussion) for our beach wedding last summer and they were absolutely phenomenal in every way. Our ceremony was perfection and all of our guests had a blast dancing the night away -- even some of the older ones that we didn't even expect to dance were on the dance floor! :-)

I knew this was the band I wanted to hire after my first conversation with Lucas Last, the band founder. He was so professional and had tons of great ideas for how to work within our venues strict music policies (no amplified music on a beach with crashing waves). He was so helpful in planning the music for our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception.

I could go on, but my point is this: if you are looking for awesome live music and professional service at a reasonable price... hire Professional Folk. You won't regret it!

Lucas and Aubrey are indeed talented. They are also funny, and the audience enjoyed their performance. Their showcase during the Hollywood Art and Movie Awards was a success and an excellent moment.

The band was hired for a technical event in San Francisco (Google Summer of Code Mentor summit 2017). I was so tired from the day but they filled me back with energy and I was dancing to the beats, enjoying with them. I really wish they keep performing and entertaining forever.

Professional Folk could not have been a more perfect band for our semi-rustic wedding. They were a true pleasure to work with - start to finish - and packed our dance floor for 2.5 hours of foot-stompin' good times.

THE MUSIC: Aubrey, Luke, and the rest of their band truly care about their music, and it shows. I myself am a musician, and know how difficult it can be to show up to a new venue to play for a bunch of strangers who have a very specific expectation for the type of music they want to hear. P-Folk played a dynamic, well-crafted set that perfectly matched the mood of the audience and feel of the event. Their unique bluegrassy covers were all crowd favorites, but because they had been artfully adapted, they didn't feel in the least bit cheesy or forced (like many wedding band covers do). It was clear that P-Folk was really enjoying playing the show, including the three special request songs they kindly learned for our event. Bottom line: they rocked it.

THE PLANNING/LOGISTICS/SOUND: Having organized many events with live bands, I've experienced quite a bit of stress and frustration working with flaky or uncommunicative musicians. Working with P-Folk was the easiest, most stress-free experience I could have imagined. Luke frequently responded to emails within an hour of less. He responded to my texts within minutes, and would return calls almost immediately. The band showed up to our event EARLY to get a feel for the venue and set up before guests arrived. Not only did he take care of his band's own sound - providing a top-of-the-line QSC sound system with zero hassle - he also took care of providing sound reinforcement for our entire event, including ceremony live music and dinner toasts in separate locations. Mic feedback? NOPE! Professional quality sound so good that nobody even noticed mics were being used? You bet! The band even stayed late after their set so that we could use their sound system to have DJ Spotify take over until our sound cutoff at midnight. Overall, Professional Folk delivered, and made our event truly memorable. A+++ 100,000 gold stars.

We found Professional Folk online because we were looking for something different and acoustical for our wedding. We couldn't be happier with them. Above playing every type of music under the sun in a unique Folk way; the band members themselves were good people, fun people with talent. Lucas did exactly what you'd want from a band leader, taking control of the timeline from the beginning to the end making sure the whole thing flowed smoothly. As a bride and groom we had multiple compliments all night long from our guests and even the venue staff on how good they were. I would hire them again for any event, not just a wedding. Lucas was great to work with from the initial email. I wanted a specific sound for my corporate event. Lucas put together the perfect mix of instruments to give us the best sound for the room. The vocals were beautiful and the musical accompaniment was spot on. Beyond the music, Lucas is friendly. Meeting him in person for the first time was like hanging out with an old friend. Professional Folk performed for our First Fridays at the Museum event. The theme of the night was a celebration of Americana: Picnic, Pie & Bluegrass. They played a mix of Bluegrass and Folk. Our audience loved them and we received numerous compliments. They were easy to work with and helped provide the perfect atmosphere for our event.

I worked with Luke and Professional Folk in May at a wedding at the Lyons Farmette in Lyons, CO. They played for both the ceremony and the reception. They were amazing. Many of the vendors at the wedding contacted me the next day for their contact information. They were professional, easy to work with and so helpful.
Everyone danced all night! As a wedding coordinator they made my job easier. They were super helpful,
respectful of the venue's sound policies and just plain fun to listen to.

Aubrey & Jacob did a fantastic job. They kicked off the night perfectly. They played a terrific selection of songs and they sounded great. Lots of compliments from our friends that attended the party.

I got what I expected from the event. As the event coordinator I need to take some of the blame for pairing Luke and Aubrey with an elderly crowd. I don't think the overall crowd appreciated the folk music as much as I did. I may have also thrown the band off by showing too much concern toward the lack of energy level of my crowd. I think that after giving my opinion of the crowd, Luke and Aubrey changed their typical routine to try and cater to my analysis.

Had a great experience with this band - they were so easy to work with and for our actual event, they read our crowd so well - the beginning was more background type music and as the night went on, the music got more lively as people started dancing. I would highly recommend this band for an upcoming event or wedding!

This is an easy choice. They show up on time, great communication, excellent performance and good people. I would absolutely recommend them as they were an awesome addition to my party.

We had Aubrey and Luke perform at our wedding and they absolutely killed it!

We planned on having a rather small wedding (about 50 people) and always envisioned have an acoustic band. We scrambled to put the wedding together over 6 weeks due to some changes in our health insurance and were worried we wouldn't be able to find anyone to perform. We stumbled across Aubrey and Luke on this site and instantly fell in love with their sound. We reached out to Lucas and he was quick to respond. At this point we hadn't even booked a venue but they were flexible and accommodating throughout the entire planning time. It was nice to not stress about one aspect of planning a wedding in the 6 weeks we were planning.

We gave them a couple specific song requests about 2 weeks prior (Marry you - Bruno Mars & Jackie and Wilson - Hozier) to play for our ceremony and first dance and they were both beautiful acoustic versions that blew us away. I wish I had a recording of them because it was 1000x better than what we expected.

Aubrey was especially helpful when it came time for the first dance. My wife was nervous since one of the things we neglected in our shorted wedding planning period was to rehearse our first dance. Aubrey told her to give her the "save me" eyes at any point and she would wrap up the song. About 1.5 min in she gave Aubrey the look and she tastefully finished up the song which was a huge relief.

I can not stress enough how great these guys were. We had more people ask us about the band than I can remember. In fact, the only gripe we could possibly think of is that they were so good they stole our spotlight!

We would 100% recommend them to anyone!!! Could not have been better!!!

On very short turnaround, Lucas and his team put together a memorable show for our event in Denver. They even re-arranged their schedules to fly in for it and couldn't have been more accommodating in making sure the night was a success. Every single guest raved about the band. If you have any special requests in mind, you should give them a call and talk it through. We would work with them again and recommend them without question.

Professional Folk was the first vendor we booked for our August 2016 wedding, and they were the vendor we most looked forward to having at our wedding...and, boy did they deliver on our expectations!

Luke was very professional, organized, and had great communication throughout the planning period. Dealing with entertainment planning in my work life, I know professionals when I see them... and Professional Folk is Best in Class in every regard! I really appreciated Luke's attention to detail and easy going yet professional demeanor. He was so eager to fulfill our vision and accommodate all our requests.

We love live music and made music a big part of our wedding day. Luke and the band were so integral in helping us to evoke feelings of love, warmth, fun and joy into the day. Luke helped to orchestrate a "double surprise" by arranging for guitar accompaniment for both my surprise serenade of the groom during the ceremony and for fiddle accompaniment of the groom's surprise performance of an original song to me. It was a special moment made even more amazing by their cool accompaniment!

Aubrey did a great job of emcee-ing the reception, and she and the band totally rocked it with background music during dinner and music to fill the dance floor!!!! It was truly amazing how 4 people could create such BIG SOUND! So many of our guests commented how they loved the music and band (and how cool they were :)) and the dance floor was full the whole night!

I wish we could create more events just as a excuse to hire Luke, Aubrey, and the band for more amazing music! :) Or just to get to hang out with such a talented and cool group of musicians!!

Professional Folk played my daughter's graduation party and they were incredible! They looked great and played amazing music! Lots of variety and their music was loved by every at the party (over 120 people). Their set list, professionalism and follow up were superb. Well done and cannot wait to book them again!

Luke and Aubrey are incredible!!! We hired them as a trio with their fiddle player, Vito. First, they played our ceremony. They honored us by learning a few new tunes we requested, and made our ceremony so special. They have a unique take on every song they do, and this gave our ceremony such a personal touch. They were perfect. THEN, they repo'd in no time and jammed out for our cocktail hour. We had 200 guests, and Luke and Aubrey's sound filled the party, but wasn't overbearing. We got a ton of compliments on their tunes. They were truly awesome to work with and I would hire them again in a second, but I'd rather just hang out with them because that's how cool they are.

Professional Folk was the perfect band for our outdoor family party we hosted at our office over the weekend. Aubrey & Luke are incredibly warm, flexible and talented people and played music that perfectly matched our audience of tech workers and there families and kids. They checked in with me regularly throughout the event to make sure I was happy and setup and broke down efficiently. I highly recommend them for any event and will be referring them to my friends, family and colleagues!

We just hired Professional Folk for my husbands 40th birthday party and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Lucas, Aubrey, and the entire band.

They are wonderful, kind people who made the entire experience so easy and fun. I felt like my husband and I were a bit needy by the massive song request list we provided, but they graciously took our requests and then played them all with incredible talent. They have a such a wide range of songs they can play - they are SO talented. They truly made our party. Every guest came up to me and commented on how good they were.
I thought the song samples I heard ahead of time were very good, but then I heard them live and they blew me away.

Lucas coordinated the performers for my brother-in-laws funeral reception (250 guests) in August and he couldn't have been more accommodating and sensitive. His music selection was perfect for the event and set the soothing, but festive, mood for the celebration of life. We immediately asked him to perform for our up coming wedding. Again, he accommodated my musical selections and recommended a perfect playlist. He even provided a fabulous accordian player for pre-ceremony music. Yes, I am that kind of person. The band was rocking and got everyone up and dancing. The music was awesome but the best part was that Lucas and the musicians were genuinely nice people and a true pleasure to work with.

Devyn and Lucas were, hands down, one of the best choices we made for our wedding. Though we hadn't met prior to the day of our ceremony, they were immediately able to get a sense of our personalities and catered to our wants throughout the night. Their easy going nature mixed with their unsurpassed talent created the exact environment we had envisioned. We will definitely use them in the future – as will many of our guests, who were equally as impressed with their performance.

Aubrey and Luke joined my wedding party on a yacht. We give them lots of the sings to practice, they were very patient and professional.They look quiet and made all my guests are enjoy their music. Although most of my guests are in professional music area, they appreciate the guitar performance. I strongly recommend the band!

Luke played our client appreciation event at Redbird in LA. He did an outstanding job setting the mood with his wonderful music.

I saw and met this Duo during a recent reception I attended. Really enjoyed the blend of their voices and the Guitar. They provided excellent background music but not overpowering the purpose of the event. I would most certainly enjoy hearing them again. Very professional young couple providing superb entertainment.
