Overview
I've been playing guitar for over 10 years now, I have a diverse background in classical, fingerstyle guitar, folk and americana music. I majored in classical guitar at UNC Asheville and live in Asheville NC. While studying guitar in college I learned many spanish classical pieces, some latin american, renaissance and many modern composers. Some examples of those composers are: Tarrega, Semenzato, Mertz, Carulli, Logy, Brian Katz. Please contact me for more examples. I've played several weddings, restaurants and special events. I've lived and played guitar in North Carolina, New Hampshire and Indiana. I'm responsive, professional and organized. I look forward to meeting you!

What to expect
Stuart plays a diverse set list of music, but he is up for learning anything. He has been asked to play Russian Folk tunes, songs written by a groom at a wedding, celtic pieces, instrumental Beatles music, you name it! As long as the request is appropriate for the time allowed to learn it. Expect to have consistent contact with Stuart throughout your booking process.
About
Stuart Ross Johnson was born in Roswell New Mexico and lived there for 6 years. While there he listened to a lot of country western music and church hymns. He then moved to Burnsville NC where he spent most of his childhood. He didn't have much experience playing music except for singing in youth choirs. He didn't start playing guitar until sophomore year of high school. He was inspired by two friends , Danny Knowles and Stephon Lemar, at a concert where he heard a cover of "I'm yours" by Jason Mraz for the first time and John Mayer's "Gravity." The next day he started asking around for guitar lessons and started taking lessons from Buddy Waterman where he learned the basics. He really wanted to start learning folk but through the first few years realized he had a passion for Spanish and Classical music. He took that passion and a little bit of skill and auditioned for UNC Asheville's music program. He was accepted and studied under David Stevenson where he learned many pieces from many different time periods.
After a bit of traveling around, Stuart is now living in Indianapolis Indiana with his wife and their cat.
Additional booking notes
-I will provide a small stool for my performance
-I can provide sound reinforcement for a small fee
-If sound is provided, I can play with a microphone or a 1/4 inch cable (I can provide that)
-I need at least 5-8 square feet, especially if I'm providing sound
-If rained out or cancelled within 7 days, I will require 1/2 booking price. Reserving your spot means I have to turn down other potential gigs.
