Overview
I have been performing music for the past 10 years, all over the country. I provide relaxing and soothing vocals accompanied by laid-back, acoustic guitar work. Perfect for outdoor or indoor parties, wedding receptions, and other events, I perform a wide repertoire of tunes ranging from the 1950s through the modern day. My favorite styles of music to play are classic rock, folk and blues. I am happy to take any requests you might have. I also am a songwriter myself, and am happy to perform in environments in which music is the main event.

Owen performed a surprise show for my fiancée at her bachelorette party and even learned her favorite songs. Since it was a surprise, secrecy was key in his setup and logistical planning. Owen was a true professional, timely, talented, and worked the crowd. It was very easy to work with him, and for a very fair price. It was surely a memorable experience, as many of the ladies were moved to tears. Would recommend!

I recently got married in Fletcher, NC on 9/23 and hired Owen to perform for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and first dance. His performance was absolutely perfect for what we were imagining and we could not recommend him more highly.
Prior to officially hiring Owen, we reached out to inquire about his services and share with him a bit more detail on what we were looking for in our small 20-person mountain wedding. He promptly responded and even went above and beyond to record a specific sample for us of a song we were hoping to have on our big day. Safe to say it was amazing and we promptly sent through our deposit!
On the day of, Owen arrived right on time and executed all of the music beautifully. We'd shared a short list of music we liked as suggestions to him prior, and he made sure to hit all the high points! Our guests commented to us how his performance elevated the total vibe of the evening and we couldn't agree more.
If you're looking for someone to play music for any event you may have, big or small. Owen is an absolute gem to find and you are sure to love his performance.

We had a small gathering and Owen played for a couple of hours. He was so pleasant to work with before hand, and very agreeable to any artist selection that I gave him. He even looked up a couple of songs/artists to familiarize himself with just for us. Our group toe/tapped and watched the sunset on the mountains behind Owen as his voice carried across the valley, it was truly magical. I would highly recommend hiring Owen for any gathering, and our group wishes him the greatest success. We’d like to go to an Owen Walsh concert in our hometown someday.

Owen was fantastic! He performed for a BBQ event with about 100 guests, and by the end of the night, there were so many requests to have him come back and perform again. (Which we fully plan on doing.) His playlist was wonderful, his acoustic vocals were perfect, and the volume of his music was just right for people to enjoy his music, while still able to converse with the other party goers. I was looking at Owen as a solo performer after listening to his amazing sound. My boss wanted a trio, so I was kinda bummed, however Owen has a duo named The Hillclimbers that he pairs with. Decided to give the 3 of them a try. AMAZING!
They played the first & last sets as a trio, then split the middle set, Owen as a solo & The Hillclimbers as a duo. It was like having 3 different bands. Whether playing together as a trio or each doing their own thing, the sound of the vocals & harmonies, as well as the instrumental talents were wonderful. I highly recommend Owen any way you can book him. His covers are spot on & the original music is filled with great lyrics & music.

An accomplished musician and a compelling performer, Owen Walsh is a must-see if you have the chance. From his own well-crafted songs to his covers of the greats like Dylan, his performance makes you feel like the audience must have felt when they first heard Dylan and Woody Guthrie. Owen is a genuinely nice guy and has charismatic magic which can transport audiences. I feel fortunate that I got to see Owen as I know that he will go on to great things and I will be able to say that I saw him back in 2023!

What to Expect
I can offer a wide range of musical performances depending on the venue and the client's needs.
For parties and events, I play relaxing acoustic guitar with gentle, pleasant vocals that will add a great ambience to the event. If I choose the set list entirely myself, I'll perform a mix of folky songs (Bob Dylan, James Taylor), classic rock (Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Eagles), 1980s New Wave and pop (The Cars, Billy Joel), 1990s alternative (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Blind Melon) and current hits (Lady Gaga, Tyler Childers, Chris Stapleton). If the client has specific requests, I am happy to shape a set list around those needs. This could mean sending specific songs that I will learn for the event, or giving me a general idea of music styles to choose from. For example, I've done parties where the client simply asked for "today's country hits," or others where the client said their favorite artist is The Grateful Dead. Whatever you need, just let me know and I can provide it.
For concerts where my music is the main entertainment, I have a long list of original songs I enjoy performing. These types of performances tend to be more dynamic and interactive. I draw audiences in with anecdotes about my life, or backstory about how a song came to be written, and then keep them enthralled with original music featuring vivid imagery, interesting and catchy melodies, and expert guitar work.
About
Owen Walsh has been telling stories and performing music his entire life. Born and raised on the banks of the Lackawaxen River in Honesdale, Pennsylvania—a small, historic coal-mining town that spawned the American railroad—Owen grew up surrounded by relics of 19th Century American life and imagery ripe for musical exploitation. More than his hometown’s history, however, Owen fell in love with the natural beauty of Northeast Pennsylvania. Kayaking the Delaware River, spying on raptors through binoculars, clambering up and down the native magnolia and oak trees, and spending endless hours out in the woods with his yellow lab mix, Allie.
Owen began playing violin at the age of three, studying formal repertoire like Mozart concertos and Bach sonatas. At 12 years old, he found his dad's dusty, old Epiphone guitar tucked away in a closet and taught himself how to play. Soon after he learned his first few chords, Owen began writing songs. He's followed in the long tradition of Americana folk music, in which lyrics are equal in importance to the melodies that bind them.
His years of formal training combined with his zest for informal improvisation create a unique blend of musical expression that incorporates the many styles Owen loves.
Owen spent years hiding his passion for singing from the world—only singing quietly to himself when (he thought) none of his family members could hear him. He didn’t publicly showcase his voice until junior year of high school, when he performed The Beatles song “Come Together” in the yearly talent show. The overwhelmingly positive response he got from that performance was life changing, and helped Owen realize that he wanted to pursue musical performance as a career. (Needless to say, his class won the talent show that year).
Owen then convinced his parents to let him make a go of it performing music around town. He got his first professional gig at 16 years old, and he hasn't stopped since. He's performed all over, including Nashville, New York City, Los Angeles and Ireland. It doesn't matter if he's playing a small open mic or a sold-out show, Owen performs with the same bluesy, earnest passion, no matter who's listening.
Owen attended Ithaca College, studying journalism and music. He received instruction from classical guitar master Pablo Cohen, who helped broaden Owen’s own musical vocabulary and abilities. Owen performed frequently around campus, winning competitions and contributing electric guitar to the band South Hill Revival, whose music is available on streaming services.
Owen has just completed writing and recording his debut album, On My Way, an eclectic mix of 12 songs, including the rye-whiskey-infused fantasy "Kings & Pharaohs," whose lyrics were inspired by Edward Hopper's painting Nighthawks; "Bad Dream," a song that explores Owen's childhood fears of an eternal afterlife; and "Time To Go," a country ballad Owen wrote from the point of view of an old-timer who was born in a small town and never left.
In his daylight hours, Owen also works as a freelance journalist, so whether it's in print or on stage, he's always telling a story to somebody.
