I juggle. At parties, events, and homes. I teach, perform, and engage. I work with individuals, groups, and audiences. I've done a lot of things: Kid birthday parties teaching, gala openings strolling, elegant weddings performing. Tell me about your juggling needs and I'll meet them.
I have fun doing what I do, and people around me seem to be having a good time when I'm doing what I do! In fact, it has been my experience that the best thing that I can do, especially for little kids, is miss. They love that!
Fun and entertaining addition to my daughter’s 8th birthday!
he was a great touch to an offbeat wedding, the kids loved him!!!! And he went along with the dropping of the pins to make them happy. Would hire him again!
Joe was a wonderful addition to our backyard birthday bash. The kids followed him around everywhere, and even got him juggling on the trampoline (No minor feat with a gaggle of kiddos jumping around throwing you off balance). Thanks Joe for adding the perfect touch to our successful birthday party!
Response from Struggling Juggling:
Perfect, Fin! Thanks for the kind words. I'm happy that's the impression I give: EXACTLY what I'm trying to achieve at a kids party! - Joe
We hired Joe Havlick for our 10th Annual Oy Vey 5K event and he was wonderful. People really responded to his juggling prior to the event and then watched in awe as he actually ran with the participants for the 5K AND juggled at the same time. Joe was very reasonably priced and easy to work with. I would highly recommend him for your event.
Response from Struggling Juggling:
Elisa - Thanks for your kind words! The pleasure was all mine: your runners made my day too. Also, nice job with your run. I have been to many, and the organization was superb. Everyone had a great time. See you next year! - Joe

What to Expect
As a juggler, I am rather versatile.
I have done many different kinds of shows, and I am amenable to your needs as host.
I am equally comfortable and proficient as an on stage performer, an interactive teacher, a roving piece of juggling eye-candy, or simply a member of your party, 5K race, or public event, who just happens to know how to juggle, engage, and entertain on an ad hoc basis.
My show is charismatic and entertaining. People laugh because I know lots of tricks and I say funny things.
I have taught 100's of people how to juggle. Indeed, that was the subject of my PhD dissertation. I can teach people at your event.
If all you want is someone to dress in period costume and parade around, I can do that. I have done openings and concerts, and evening gala events.
A special skill I have is to run and juggle simultaneously. I have done so in many runs, including triathlons where I juggle when running the last leg, the running leg. (no, I don't juggle while swimming or biking). Yes, I have been hired to juggle before, after, AND DURING running events like 5 K's! It is fun and it would seem to be unforgettable for the participants.
Finally, what I love to do most is to simply be part of the party and engage individuals and small groups of all ages. I am pretty good at making friends and my interactions tend to be memorable and fun for the party-goers. There is a lot of laughing and learning going on.
Of course, any combination of the above works. Use me as you see fit to make your event the most fun and memorable it can be.
I taught myself to juggle when I was ten, in 1971. Led Zepplin was really big then. Juggling has been a part of my life, off and on, since. I've passed clubs with the Flying Karamazov Brothers and was a founding member of the Give and Take Jugglers. My PhD dissertation used juggling as a tool to examine the effects of imagery on acquiring a novel gross motor skill. I juggled in an interview and got the job (for school counseling, not the circus). I have juggled while running the final leg of many triathlons (see profile picture).
Additional Booking Notes
I am a free standing performer. I have everything I need. Having written that, I can assume any persona you wish. I can come in costume if that helps. I can juggle just about anything that weighs less than a bowling ball, if you have a particular theme we can play on. If you want a large group performance as part of your event, a stage and a clip on might help, but I have a booming voice so it is not necessary.
