July 12, 2026We had the great pleasure of working with the band for a friend’s birthday, arranging a surprise jazz trio right in his home with a custom set list. Not only was the performance stellar, but Phil, Larry, and Peter were incredibly easy to work with and lovely to chat with afterward. The birthday guy is still buzzing about it, days later. They are fascinating guys, and we truly hope to see them again!

We are a 100% self-contained quartet or trio (on request) that can fill an exhibition hall with hundreds of conference attendees or a living room with friends and family with high-spirited and uplifting jazz standards or mellower harmon-muted trumpet.
Dr. Phil Pearl (keys) is Director of Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology and William G. Lennox Chair in the Department of Neurology at Boston Children's Hospital, and Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School. He is a faculty member of the Music and Health Institute of Berklee College of Music, has performed with the Longwood Symphony Orchestra, and is the editor of the forthcoming book: Music, Medicine, and the Neurobiology of Creativity.
Peter Orne (trumpet) is a communications lead and writer for WestEd, a large nonprofit education research and professional development organization. From the mountains of Bretton Woods to the Post Underground basement in Brookline Village, he has been playing jazz at restaurants, hotels, clubs, and conference venues in New England for over a decade.
Dr. Mark Pfaff (bass) is a researcher for a not-for-profit organization in Bedford. Mark plays regularly at venues around the Boston area.
Vincent Gonzalez (drums) has been a Firefighter for the City of Boston for 20 years. He is a graduate of Berklee College of Music.
Keys and electric bass are amped and require a power source.
