Classical/Jazz Pianist and Composer Steven Buckner has always been inspired by others and world events to create his own distinctive style in music composition. As a native from Flint Michigan, Steven continues to seek inspiration thru the people he meets and writes the music dedicated to those experiences. Steve describes his music as a channeling of cultural and spiritual elements. Steve added that, "Peace comes from within, and music can have a place for it as well"

Steven considers that he is a spiritually taught musician who learned piano at the early age of 10 when his father was playing the Christmas song, 'Oh Little Town of Bethlehem' on their family piano. Upon not having access to any formal music training, Steven later asked his father to teach him the song. From that moment, Steven started creating his own compositions which have evolved thru years due to dedication and hard work.

In 1997 Steven's father collaborated on a jazz album titled, 'A Tribute To My Father, His Son, My Son' which was heard throughout radio programming including a live performance spot on the Mitch Albon Show in Detroit Michigan.

During the year 2002, Steven Buckner composed the music for a independent feature film 'Dark Tomorrow'. The film went on to receive several awards in the New York Film Festival for best Thriller!

In 2005, Steven produced his first New Age Album 'Darkness Into Light Vol 1 Deep Meditation'. Steven remarked that he felt an urge to create the album to help others relieve stress during difficult times by using the album as a tool to help them meditate. To this day the album has received thousands of streams internationally on Spotify and iTunes!

Ten years later on 11/11/2015, Steven Buckner released his follow up album, 'Darkness Into Light Vol II The Classical Diaries'. This 15 track album has elements of cinematic classical piano, orchestration, and ethnic instruments surely to relax and calm the spirit! For the first time, Steven will donate ten percent of the sales from this album will be donated to help feed the homeless!

During 2013, Steven started developing a new approach to his music. He created 'The Cues Series' which features a wide range of music in different styles and attributes. The ideal for 'The Cues', comes from the desire to have his music placed in film and television. So far, Steven has completed The Cues Vol I-III. Production for IV will begin sometime in the later part of 2017.

In July of 2016, Steven drove cross country from Michigan to reside in Los Angeles and lives with his family. The drive was one of spiritual rebirth that led to another chain of events. Steven was nominated for two Hollywood Music And Media awards, in the Producer/Production and also in the Contemporary Classical/Instrumental category. He later went to score music for two independent film shorts and had several placements on the E! Network. In addition, Steven has also been nominated in 2017 for an HMMA award in the Producer/Production category.
