July 11, 2023Incredible wedding ceremony music
Spencer & Sequoia played an acoustic set for our wedding ceremony in June 2023 in upstate NY. They were very professional, communicative and easy to work with. They showed up early the day of the wedding and played a beautiful set of prelude music followed by processional music. They had a fantastic catalogue with a diverse array of music with many indie/classic rock and pop songs that my partner and I love; they also arranged 1-2 songs that were not on their catalogue that we requested. Highly recommend them to any couples looking for a great acoustic band for an event/wedding!! We got so many complements about them!

What to expect
We play a variety of music (originals and covers) and have been playing for a few years now which means we are fully in sync with each other, and people notice that. We are professional but down to earth and always make sure we understand your vision because that's our goal- to make your event music just what you want!
We also can learn songs on request and if you needed a fuller sound than a duo, we have musicians on hand to widen out the sound if that is what you choose.
About
Spencer and Sequoia started a few years ago- unbeknownst to them in fact. Two twenty something’s sending music to each other from across the world. Purposeful nonchalant emails containing soul searching songs and an innuendo of what would eventually be- a really awesome duo making really awesome music.
Spencer was a Seattleite living in New York pressing shirts(talk to him if you want that explained) and pulling crowds with his distinct vocals and catchy tunes. From strumming the guitar to stunning with his trumpet playing, Spencer had a good thing going on.
Meanwhile, in Auckland, New Zealand (you know that country next to Australia that always gets cut off maps) lived a girl who wrote songs. No seriously. She wrote a lot of songs. Dreary, funky, strange, catchy, indie, lame- all of it. But she was addicted to coffee and needed a day job to cover her vice. She had a normal thing going on.
Meeting through mutual friends, they began a very long thread of songs, ideas and plans. Finally, Sequoia hopped over to New York and they fell in love, got married and gave birth to a beautiful band.
Currently they play shows in the tri-state area, drink coffee and are recording their debut album estimated to drop late 2017. They were recently nominated late 2016 by the Independent Music Awards for Best Acoustic Song.
