Overview
We are a red-hot Southern California style western swing band playing a mix of classic western swing tunes from the likes of: Bob Wills and The Texas Playboys, Hank Penny, Billy Jack Wills, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Hawkshaw Hawkins, Sid King and Five Strings, Rya Price, Wade Ray, as well as a fantastic mix of our own original music made in that same great style. We are a western dance band and we play music for dancers. Our music is fun and infectious, and your guests will not be able to stop themselves from dancing. DISCLAIMER: We do not play any new country, or classic country like Johnny Cash, or Merle Haggard.

The Southwest Biscuit Co. is everything that is good about successful Western swing, vintage jazz and big band orchestras:
They are TIGHT.
Whether it's an original number they have created, or a classic cover song, the band evokes memories of Bob Wills, Spade Cooley and Hank Penny, with the right rhythm, correct vocal inflection - and tasty licks on their solos.
This is not a cover band. These professional musicians care about their craft, and play their tunes the way they were meant to be played - as a team.
Bandleader Jody Byrd coaxes the best out of each member, and each member gives it their all.
Southwest Biscuit Co. is an historically accurate purveyor of old-time music, with a swinging beat that gets dancers on their feet.
For a jumping good time, a wide variety of material, and instrumentation that includes fiddle and steel guitar, look no further than the Southwest Biscuit Co.

What to expect
You would see a proud history of country and western music in Southern California in the 1940s and 1950s providing a glimpse at that era with songs from Bob Wills, Hank Penny, Hank Williams, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Wade Ray, Hawkshaw Hawkins, Billy Jack Wills, and many others. We offer a unique brand of vintage western swing entertainment and provide a musical evening that is quite contagious and will have everyone dancing and is nothing but fun happy music. Perfect for any event planner who is looking for something different from the norm. DISCLAIMER: We do not play any new country music, we also do not play what most would consider classic country in line of: Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, etc.
About
Howdy folks we're the Southwest Biscuit Company, a red-hot country and western band serving up a piping hot mix of western swing, hillbilly jazz, jazz standards, and a little rockabilly for good measure. With a groove that is sure to keep you dancing all night long.
We play all over Southern California, and anywhere else that'll have us. We play western dance music, so you can be sure whether you're doing lindy/shag or bal or two-stepping or maybe even waltzing we've got something for you.
Our band is a six-piece consisting of Jody Byrd on lead vocals, Jordan Bush on Steel Guitar/ Harmonica/Banjo. etc., Ray Bergstrom on Lead Guitar, Dan Weinstein on Fiddle/Trumpet and Trombone, Armando Wood on Bass Fiddle, and Dave Green on Drums.
We write a lot of our own material, but we always love giving some attention to the lesser played western tunes from those eras also, and you can always hear a healthy dose of Bob Wills and others at our shows.
Additional booking notes
Band can provide its own sound, consisting of PA system, monitors, mics, mic stands, cables, instrument amps, etc. I would prefer to have the venue provide sound when available.
