What to expect
We have done a few different types of shows. Peter writes a mix of humorous and serious folk and jazz songs and is known for his acoustic guitar playing. Susan sings harmony and plays the fiddle and provides humor to Peter's deadpan expressions. Susan collects and performs tin pan alley and jazz standards on uke and fiddle. When we perform at senior facilities we concentrate on older songs that residents and members know and may be able to sing along to. We also have a "History of Funny Songs" program geared toward libraries. We mix some video clips with funny old songs like Allen Sherman or Randy Newman.
About
ABOUT US: Peter Lehndorff is an award-winning songwriter and a guitarist whose songs have been heard on NPR, CarTalk, and college radio stations. Susan Hill is a prize-winning old-time fiddler for community dances and historical reenactments. Susan is also a ukulele instructor at senior centers. They accompany themselves on guitars, banjo, mandolin, fiddles, and ukuleles (but not all at the same time).
From a Librarian: “…I had lots of comments on how wonderful you both were. One patron, in particular, liked the mix of songs you chose to share. We will certainly keep you in mind for future programs. Also, it tends to be difficult to get people out of the house in January for programs, so it’s a testament to you both that patrons wanted to come out in the dark and cold to see you perform.”
Additional booking notes
We do have two different sound systems although we love it when we can concentrate on performing rather than transporting and setting up equipment. Other than that we are easygoing about it. If a venue is providing sound we need two vocal mics and inputs for acoustic guitar, uke, fiddle, and usually one other instrument like a banjo or mandolin.

Set list
Original songs from Peter's two albums. "Love on the Line" and "Don't Be Discouraged"
Generally, we do interpretations of Tin Pan Alley songs like Paper Moon, Hello My Baby, Ain't Misbehaving, etc. We also do a few traditional folk songs and fiddle tunes.
Influences and inspiration
Peter's songs are often compared to John Prine's. But we cover many folk or country singers: Randy Newman, Johnny Cash, John Gorka. But we also love Fats Waller, Frank Sinatra, and Mose Allison.
