The Song Smith band is based out of The Harris Conservatory of Music in downtown Plymouth, MI. They are the Conservatory's premier ensemble. Song Smith is a core trio of DL Turner on acoustic guitar, harp, and lead vocals; Jon Barber on bass and backing vocals, and Brian Harris on drums and backing vocals. This core trio expands to add Nate Glitman on soprano, alto, & baritone saxophones and backing vocals, Aidan Rickel on keyboards and backing vocals, and Paul Sihon on electric guitar and tabla drums.
In this way, the Song Smith band can perform as a trio, quartet, quintet, or as a sextet for the full Song Smith experience!
The broad variety of instrumentation also allows for a broad variety of genres. They can easily be a dance band, a soulful groove band, a talented original music ensemble, a new age acoustic group...the possibilities are vast!
