A night of music for a 60s themed 40th Birthday Party

Overview

Smitten began in 2015 and plays easy listening acoustic songs ranging from the 1950s & 1960s oldies to classic rock to country to 80s pop and contemporary music in a fun acoustic vibe with great harmonies. Guitar, bass, and/or keys.
Our electric duo can create a great night of dance music. We perform a wide variety of dance and party music ranging from classic rock & country to the best of the '80s dance music.
We began writing original songs in 2017 and have released an EP under the band name Rhindress Duo with more to come. Our songs reflect the people and stories we have heard from our travels across Canada and the world. We also do singing telegrams for a variety of occasions.

What to expect

We are punctual and highly communicative. We arrive early and set up our state of the art sound system and/or lighting on time and are completely prepared to perform a minimum of 30 minutes early.
We have a wide variety of attire that is always completely appropriate to the event and neither of us drink while performing (ever!).
We both speak easily to the audience and have excellent engagement with humour as appropriate but we can just play and not talk as well. We are both seasoned professionals who know how to read the room and do exactly what is required to provide a great time.
We take turns fronting songs and we both harmonize so the audience is never bored with the "same sound". We also like to provide music from many different eras so everyone in the crowd will hear something they like. Our feedback is always excellent.
In short, we are professional musicians who take what we do very seriously but who have a lot of fun doing it.

About

Jim Rhindress has been playing professionally since he was 16 years old and Kim Foreman-Rhindress began piano lessons at the age of five and voice lessons at the age of 12. We come from very different musical backgrounds - Jim classic rock and Kim musical theatre but our love for music and each other has brought about wonderful alchemy in Smitten.
At Jim's encouragement, Kim picked up the bass in 2017 which has proven to be a lot of fun and has added a unique versatility to the music we play. She now goes back and forth between keys and bass and occasionally the melodeon depending on what will add the most to the song.
We created our acoustic cover duo Smitten in 2015 and originally thought we would only play love songs. This duo quickly developed into a very versatile project that incorporates all of the musical styles we love. We now play all types of musical genres and eras from the 1950s and 1960s oldies to classic rock to country to 80s pop and contemporary music. With more than 250 songs in our repertoire, we are able to fully customize our entertainment for the listeners.
We enjoy acoustic music but we love ramping up the party with customized backing tracks if the event calls for dancing and can play a full night of high-energy dance songs ranging from classic rock to 80s pop to 90s, 2000s, and now.

Additional booking notes

We are completely self-sustaining. If PA is required, we just need power at the site.
Note: We do not set up PA on any non-hard surface such as grass and we require some kind of cover if the performance is to be outdoors for protection from sun or possible rain.
