Let our unique acoustic-R&B style provide the refreshing backdrop for your special event. We perform crowd-pleasing Top 40 covers from all eras, plus some originals. Our trio configuration (singer-guitarist, cajon, lead guitar) fits nicely between a solo performance and party band.

We hired Justin for our intimate backyard wedding and he exceeded our expectations. We weren't entirely sure how a few of the songs we requested to be played would turn out without lyrics and it was incredible. Justin is so talented!
I would recommend Justin to anyone looking for a beautiful, romantic evening. He was a highlight and everyone was making comments as to how good he was.

My apologies, Priyanka. Due to the last-minute change of location, I did not foresee that the performance would be away from a power access.
About 15 minutes before I arrived to perform, you called my phone to let me know you changed the location of the performance. This new location did not have access to power like the original location does. I had my amplifier and 30-foot extension cable but there was nowhere I could find to plug it in. You did mention at the start of the performance if I could please play louder, so I did, and then it seemed to me that you were satisfied with this for the rest of the performance.
For all future events I will be more clear in advance that power access is a requirement for amplifying acoustic guitar.

What to expect
We bring all our own PA and microphones - please provide access to standard power outlets.
Depending on the nature of the event, we load in 60 to 90 minutes prior to performing.
Alternately, for larger events you may provide your own A/V team and PA for us to use.
You may pass our contact info to your A/V team so we can discuss technical details.
About
Nick Gee and Justin Brown initially developed a distinctive R&B-folk style when they started co-writing in 2016. One of their earliest collaborations "Stay My Love" made it to the finals of the CBC Searchlight Competition. Honing lyrics and melodies, they would alternate meet-ups at Justin's home studio in East Vancouver and Nick's apartment in Ladner.
One Halloween Evening, backed by a full rock band, they played their first gig together. The energetic performance got a great response, but stylistically, it still left them..... searching.
From that night on, the standard rock band setup - drum-kit, bass, electric guitars and keyboard - would slowly down-size to a more natural foundation, with Nick singing and strumming, and Justin on lead guitar, with the occasional vocal harmony. Ultimately, the search ended in 2021 with the addition of multi-percussionist Jarrett Plett, fulfilling their signature live acoustic sound.
Additional booking notes
Our typical booking is 2.5 hours of music plus breaks in a 3-hr or 3.5-hr window.
We play a mix of classic and modern covers, plus some originals.
We naturally adapt our volume and repertoire to suit the ebb and flow of your event.
We use our own PA and microphones. We do not provide lighting services.
