Sons of Granville
Overview
Our signature trio (viola, guitar and cajon) is tailored for upscale musical atmosphere that is both elegant and fun, and flows with the event's natural progression. Shifting on a dime from background ambience to spotlight performance, we strive to keep the surprises coming while never seeming out of place. With a crowd-pleasing catalogue of acoustic Top 40 to go along with our energetic originals, we've honed a repertoire to enliven your guests without detracting from the principal festivities.
By popular request, we also work with select singers to provide a vocal option.

March 12, 2026Lovely music
We had the Sons of Granville play at our annual employee awards gala for the fourth year. they are wonderful. Everyone commented about how much they enjoyed the music. They played during the reception and while people were eating dinner and it was just lovely.

June 18, 2025Perfect addition to the lunch segment of our conference!
As soon as Justin started playing his guitar I knew we had made the right choice. Justin's selection, volume, and vibe of solo acoustic instrumental was the perfect addition to the lunch segment of our conference.

August 4, 2024Incredible Musician - Must Hire
We booked Justin from Sons Of Granville for our wedding ceremony & reception. He was an incredibly talented musician that overdelivered on his performance. For our Ceremony, he quickly learned our favorite song and played a relaxed acoustic version of it - it was more than perfect. During our reception, he set the mood with laid-back relaxing guitar instrumental melodies. Apart from being talented, he was also extremely professional with an instinct for playing live events (when to start, how to start, when to stop, etc). We're so happy we found Justin and we'd highly recommend booking him for your event. Stop scrolling, book em' now!
Hired as: Guitarist

What to expect
Our music features viola as the leading voice, with a rhythm section that consists of acoustic guitar and percussion. We play mostly pop covers and our own original medleys. It's tough to put a label on our unique style - acoustic fusion, to some - but it's always easy-listening and fun!
About
We started as a busking duo with viola and guitar, but our reputation for energetic street shows really took off once we added our cajon player. We made three consecutive podiums in the Georgia Straight “Best of Vancouver” contest, remaining a staple of Vancouver’s entertainment district for several years before ultimately shedding our busker roots with the release of the The Imperative Drive LP.
Additional booking notes
For most events, we bring our own PA and load in 90 minutes prior to performing. Therefore, we do not require any extra equipment to get up and running - except for access to power! Alternately for larger events, we're happy to use the PA of your A/V provider if required.
