We offer a wide repertoire consisting of lighter classical selections, show tunes, Beatles and popular music.

October 30, 2023Tony and the rest of the Shrewsbury String Quartet brought the touch of elegance to our daughter's wedding ceremony and cocktail hour for which we had been searching. Working with Tony is very easy and accommodating. My daughter wanted a song play, which the Quartet didn't have, so they found the music and practiced it for the event. I would have no hesitation hiring them for our next event.

What sets the Shrewsbury String Quartet apart from the others is how easy it is to work with us. We get many compliments on the way we sound and we hear from a lot of brides that they appreciate how easy we are to work with.
We pride ourselves in answering emails and returning phone call immediately. If you do not hear back from us within a few hours, we probably did not get your message so please try again.
We have performed at several hundred weddings and are very familiar with the timing of the music. There are some quartets that will not perform at a Catholic Mass without an organist. The Shrewsbury String Quartet has played several hundred Catholic Wedding Masses is very familiar with Catholic Masses and non-Mass ceremonies. We are very comfortable with or without an organist.
We will start playing prelude music about a half hour before the wedding starts. We will play something special for the mothers and grandmothers to be seated, and processional music for the bridesmaids and bride to walk down the aisle. We can also play special music during the ceremony, for a unity candle, communion, meditation, etc. We will then play for the bride and groom to recess from the altar, and postlude music as your guests are leaving.
This would cost $775.00 for a quartet, $650.00 for a trio or $525.00 for a duo. If you hire us for a ceremony and cocktail hour, the combined fee would be $1275.00 for a quartet, $1025.00 for a trio or $775.00 for a duo.
We will work very closely with you helping you choose music that is perfect for you. If there is music that you want that we do not have in our repertoire, we will do our best to find it for you.
No one thing provides more romance, ambiance, intimacy and elegance for a wedding ceremony than the addition of the Shrewsbury String Quartet. We provide a wonderful background and set an elegant and romantic mood, allowing for conversation among guests, require no amplification, and will enhance both formal and informal occasions.

Thank you for an amazing performance at our wedding ceremony on June 4, 2006 at The Church of the Incarnation. To be honest with you guys, we were a little skeptical as to how you were going to pull everything together without even rehearsing with the singer and the priest. But Wow...everything went smoothly. It was perfect! We didn't think there was a dry eye in the church after you guys were done with the Ave Maria.
