SHAG the Band is Vancouver's 8 person Party Rock Band with a Neo-Glitter aesthetic available for private bookings, charity events, corporate events, and special events where people are encouraged to crack open their tickle trunks and dress up for fun, or just come as you are and enjoy the party!
Winners of the 2024 Battle of the Bar Bands at the Commodore Ballroom and 2025 Winners of the Battle of the Bar Bands at Victoria’s Da Vinci Centre, SHAG the Band is rock and roll for those looking for an excuse to let their hair down and have a good time. Stellar harmonies with no backing tracks, the way live music was meant to be!!! A fun energetic band for fun energetic people.

What to expect
No "shoe gazers" in this band! We play fun upbeat music which people love, but don't get to hear from traditional bar bands. Costumes and performance energy with solid harmonies is our brand. If you are looking to have a great party with a band that will bring high energy and performance values, we want to play for you.
Additional booking notes
We are an eight person band who can supply the P.A. system for private events if necessary. We work with you if the event venue requires lighting to ensure you get the performance values you are seeking, within the price range you want.

Influences and inspiration
SHAG the Band specializes in upbeat positive party dance music with a theatrical flavour. We cover songs from the 1960's to 2020's with a focus on underplayed but beloved songs from the 1980's to 2000's but a wide range of popular songs not usually heard by traditional bar bands. Our influences include the B52's, David Bowie, the Cars, the Go Go's, Lady Gaga, the Bangles, Elvis Costello, and so much more!
