December 21, 2025We had the pleasure of having SaxMajor perform at our Christmas party, and I can’t recommend him enough. He was a very last-minute booking on our end, yet he was incredibly accommodating, professional, and easy to work with from start to finish. His performance truly elevated the atmosphere of the entire event.
What stood out most was his vast song selection—he was able to play a wide range of music that appealed to all ages and vibes throughout the night. Every song was played beautifully, and he read the room perfectly. If you’re looking for a talented saxophonist who is flexible, reliable, and impressive, SaxMajor is an excellent choice. 🎷

David,
Thank you for inviting me to your home to entertain your guests. It was a very enjoyable evening. What really made the evening was your handpicked playlist you provided me to perform. THAT was a lot of fun.

He can surely play a variety of music; from beginning to end all my guests were very entertained by his tunes and he made us all dance!
He is surely experienced and knows how to play the sax. I highly recommend him. Thanks Mr. SaxMajor for making our party super fun.

SaxMajor is a premier saxophone and vocal specialist who delivers a dynamic, full-band sound as an elite solo entertainer. He is highly comfortable performing for diverse age and cultural groups at weddings, corporate functions, private parties, hotel lounges, and local restaurants. For the past decade, he has also focused extensively on senior and baby boomer engagements. His massive musical repertoire spans a wide variety of styles, including American standards, classic and modern Top 40, Jazz, Latin, and Bollywood hits.
Before launching the SaxMajor brand in 2012, Ruben Cantu began performing professionally at just 15 years old. Over his decades-long career, he has played throughout Southern California and Las Vegas in an array of musical ensembles, including small jazz groups, rock bands, swing bands, and symphony orchestras. While living in Las Vegas, Ruben performed extensively on the famous Las Vegas Strip, sharing the stage with some of the world's finest show musicians. Most recently, he completed a prominent two-year residency at Circa 55, the upscale rooftop restaurant at The Beverly Hilton.
An elite academic and educator, Ruben holds a Bachelor of Music (B.M.) degree in instrumental music from California State University, Long Beach, and a Master of Music (M.M.) degree in performance from California State University, Fullerton. He is also an early retired public school band director who spent years teaching others to play, with many of his former students successfully continuing on to become professional musicians themselves.
SaxMajor supplies his own sound equipment. Depending on the size of the audience, he can bring a small speaker suitable for a small group to a full set sound set up including a PA system with bass subwoofer for a larger dancing crowd. SaxMajor has sound equipment with a Line Out for access to a house PA sound system.
Because of tablet screen glare limitations outdoors, SaxMajor needs advanced notice if the event is indoors and outdoors.

We booked Ruben for our Friday Happy Hour and our elderly residents absolutely loved him. Every show is different, this time he changed it up with some singing and saxophone playing, including some great Big Band songs. We will definitely make him a regular at our parties. See you next time Ruben! Ruben Cantu is a great entertainer!...I am an Activity Director for an Asst. Living Facility for the elderly and they always have a great time when we book Ruben. They love the saxophone music he is able to play for us, and also the great way he gets the crowd to sing-a-long with his songs :)...We will definitely make Ruben one of our regulars for our birthday parties, happy hours, candlelight dinners, etc. Thank You Ruben!...see you soon. Ruben performed for our elderly residents in our Asst. living Facility for our weekend Happy Hour, they absolutely loved his saxophone music and singing! They have asked me to bring back every other month, and we surely will! See You Soon Ruben!

Ruben Cantu is a very pleasant and talented performer. He interacts with the crowd and gets everyone involved. Ruben preformed at a Father's day dinner that my facility hosted and many of the guest in attendance commented on how they enjoyed his music. He was instrumental in setting a successful scene for the evening, and boy did he deliver! Ruben showed up early and stayed later then he had to. I am very satisfied with him and have asked him to come back and perform again.

Ruben Cantu played at our Holiday Event on December 13th. He showed up early to set up and started performing 30 minutes before his official start time with only took a minimal break during the two hours of the event. We will definitely add him to our list of preferred performers, he was professional, accommodating, punctual and very talented. We heard nothing but great things about Mr. Cantu from all of our guests.
– Gisset R - Glendale, CA
Ruben was fantastic! He was very well prepared for the event, and played different genres at the Crowne Plaza San Jose, Client Holiday Luncheon. Many clients were asking about him, and I will definitely recommend him to other company's functions. One of the best decisions made.
