Sapphire's Blue Notes

After we have a formal interview to see if we can be a match. We have to discuss what is the budget of the buyer?. We would need to discuss lodging, travel, band's covered insurance, stage set up? Will the venue be indoors or outdoors? We have a stage character called, "Grandma Bounce" under the Funk music venue. Sometimes we ask the children to come and dance with us. We have a tribute to Prince where we have special stage sound effects that Prince use to do from Purple Rain. We have a Car Wash dance that we can do taken from the old school movie, "Car Wash". We have over 100 themes from old movies that we combine with our shows that no other band can do or have done. All of our shows are creatively designed. Our shows are never the same. So it really depends on the type and style of the venue and what the talent buyer can afford to spend.

Sapphire's Blue Notes is a 14 piece band that can do just about any genre of music. We only ask that the event is 6 months to a year in advance because we take pride in providing high quality on both sounds, stage presence, and sometimes we can be entertaining. The name came from the band's owner, father old school group that was called Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes. All talent buyers must have a budget in mind before asking for a final quote. We will not take any last minutes of gigs because of our high-quality standards. We have a two-hour minimum of playing. We have done in the past, shows for tributes to Parliament, Prince, BB King, (instrumental Jazz). This band was created in 2013. Linda Evans is the lead singer of this band and she does not sing on all shows. She has been hired as a solo singer for many gospel kinds of music. She prefers to perform with a band that has a passion for both R&B AND Funk music. Funk music examples of Parliament and the late Ohio Players. Miss Sapphire's last performance was doing a tribute to Marvin Gaye for an audience of 5,000 on the Carnival Cruise ship of the 2019 Christmas season. Some of the band's musicians can play rock and roll and country but again it requires months of advance practicing because the chords are completely different from the regular R&B notes, that we are used to. Our pet peeves are talent buyers who don't know what kind of music they want and expect us to pick for them. Our prices are customized to meet the genre of music of the buyer. No price is the same. These musicians have over 30 years in the music business and our level of experience cannot be done for free. This band has the ability to open for other celebrities band from Smokey Robinson to George Clinton. We can play on any type of genre but the buyer must take into consideration the size of this band for the stage to hold this number of people. For a 14 piece band, our prices usually start at $2500 per hour (locally not international). Smaller venues are welcomed. We are open to both domestic and international gigs. We prefer corporate, trade, casinos, or any large scale venue. We are open to the idea of doing weddings.
