Funk Brotherz

Jerome Cunningham and the Funk Brotherz Band are awesome musicians and performers! Our guests enjoyed the current hits as well as the trip down memory lane with Top Billboard R & B Songs as well as favorite Earth, Wind, and Fire sounds and some hip-hop too for the young set! They even played steppers music for the steppers group in attendance. We truly enjoyed everything about the band from their professionalism of arriving on time and setting up, to the fabulous vocalist, sax player, keyboard player, guitarist, bassist, and drummer. Our NAACP guests consisted of an intergenerational crowd who really applauded every song that was played. My favorite of the night was "Uptown Funk" by Bruno Mars. Funk Brotherz even covered Aretha Franklin's Chain of Fools while I sang. In addition, they covered "I Say A Little Prayer" for our ACT-SO winner, Cierra Johnson as well as an original Jazz tune composed by Dr. David Weatherspoon, Waukegan, IL. They are a fabulous party band who covers any song that you request. We plan to hire them again the the near future.
