Overview

I'm a jolly, friendly, grandfatherly Santa Claus with a real beard, comfortable in all environments where the spirit of Christmas is honored. I can work equally well with adults and children, and children who are sensitive to strangers or who have special needs are a specialty of mine. I'm an excellent singer and storyteller, and will happily lead sing-alongs of Christmas carols or read Christmas stories to children.

If you need Santa to help promote your product or business (not just in the Christmas season, but year-round) in a tasteful, wholesome manner, I'm your Santa. Every business I've worked with has said they're looking forward to hiring me again.

What to expect

Primarily, I want to make sure that I meet any of YOUR concerns. Whether you want me to simply sit on a Santa chair and take pictures, or mingle with or greet your guests, or lead singing or games, or tell stories or do a little Santa magic - I can do all of this. If you want something else that's Santa-appropriate, just tell me in advance and I'll make sure I'm prepared for it.

About

I'm a dad of 5, and uncle to 46! I've been happily married over 40 years to the same wonderful woman.

While we are both active in our faith, and I love when I can bring the full dimension of St. Nicholas into my character, I fully respect those who would prefer to have a secular Santa Claus; the spirit of charity embodied by Santa is the heart of Christmas.

I'm an excellent singer and expressive storyteller, and I enjoy singing (either leading or just singing along) and telling not only stories from a book, but also original Santa stories that you will hear nowhere else!

Professionally, my career has been in the computer field, with almost 50 years experience; I've also been involved in volunteer public safety and disaster management with the American Red Cross and the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services. I'm a ham radio operator (AA6MH) as are most of my family members. My wife and I met at a science fiction convention, and our children as as much "nerds" as we are!

Despite my wide interests, I stay in character during my appearances, especially if any children are present (and if the event is adult-only, I stay in character until the event is over anyway). I want to make sure that my performance makes you really BELIEVE that Santa Claus is real... because he is; he's me.

Additional booking notes

It’s generally good to have a location for “pictures with Santa” set up in advance. If you don’t have a suitable “throne” for Santa, which can actually be simply a big, comfy chair, I can supply a Santa “throne” for the appearance for a small additional charge.

If it’s a large gathering, I generally need no more than any “guest speaker” would need.
