Overview

Hey there! I'm Ryan, thanks for stopping by. I perform acoustic sets throughout New England. I'm a great option for low-key environments like breweries, cafes, restaurants, bars, farmers markets, cocktail hours, and other listening room type spaces.

- I'm always punctual, and perform a thorough sound check before I begin.
- If needed, I can bring my own equipment for your space.
- I'm tactful and respectful to all patrons and venue staff.
- I'm regularly invited back for repeat performances.

Booking lead time is currently about two to three months in advance, but if your event is sooner than that, I'll do my best to make it work!

What to expect

A focused, conscientious performance that is timely, warm, and engaging.

About

I'm a dedicated singer-songwriter from rural Massachusetts. I grew up in a family of back porch, front porch, kitchen, basement, and campfire musicians where nobody shied away from a good time.

I've been around music my whole life, with a particular focus on the long lineage of acoustic songwriters that have come before me. I've been described as a very deep and compassionate person, though somewhat reserved.

I treat music and songwriting as a spiritual practice at this point. I'm happy to perform sets of covers, originals, or a mix of the two depending on what you need.

Please take a look at my website, or view more of my content and say hello on instagram @iamryancalkins. I'm looking forward to meeting you, don't be shy!

Additional booking notes

As an acoustic performer, I don't need much more than the basics so that I can be heard in the room. Lights, props, and the added elements of a stage performance are certainly nice to haves and can add to the engagement, but certainly not necessary from my perspective.

Set list

Just about anything you want in the folk/country/americana music genre. I can perform songs that would be tactful at a memorial service on one end of the spectrum, all the way up to faster-pace songs that can set a jovial mood for your social event or venue.
