Rick Jobe’s Swing Revue offers more than one style of swing music. Examples are the classic swing of the 1940s such as Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Glen Miller, and Tommy Dorsey. Lindy Hop or Jitterbug!
We also can include, or exclusively perform, Western Swing music, with our band, Rick Jobe and the Wonderin’ Cowboys, with a fusion of country and jazz that is unique, intoxicating and fun.
If that isn’t enough, enjoy the gypsy jazz stylings of our French style swing band.
Our members have toured with Suzie Boggus, Janey Fricke, Dave Brubeck and John Jorgensen. Recording credits include Loretta Lynn and Leon Russel. Some even have honors such as the Grammy attached to their name!

I wanted something extra special for my Dad's 90th birthday so I used Gigsalad to bid for a live Swing Band to perform the private event at an historic Nashville restaurant. Rick was helpful right from the very first contact, asking questions about the venue, the specific music I was interested in, and details about my Dad. My Dad grew up in France during WW2 so Rick crafted a special song list with several French versions of popular songs from that time. We had a quartet with double bass, guitar, violin, and clarinet / saxophone.
Many times during the event I found my Dad singing to the music as we celebrated. I highly recommend Rick and his band for their professionalism, performance quality, and flexibility.

The highest quality musical entertainment, live and direct from Nashville TN. Either a Western Swing band ranging from 3 to 6 members or a traditional jazz and swing ensemble ranging from a duo to a six piece ensemble. The band is colorfully and appropriately dressed for any occasion with embroidered western attire or sophisticated business casual, depending on the choice of ensembles and the event type.
Rick's careers as a music store owner, music teacher, college professor, multimedia audio developer (NASA and Disney's Monsters Inc. video game) music minister and ordained minister to the homeless, never interrupted his first love, live music. His band, Rick Jobe and Tuxedo Junction brought four decades of music to grateful audiences in Huntsville and North Alabama.
Rick's 2013 move to Nashville has allowed him to concentrate on performance and recording, establishing two new bands, Rick Jobe and the Wonderin' Cowboys and Rick Jobe’s Swing Revue. He has produced and recorded two albums; Rick Jobe and the Wonderin’ Cowboys and Central Standard Time (both available streaming). These ensembles represent the best in both city and western swing, blues and jazz!
Depending on the ensemble chosen the staging should range from 10 x 10’ up to 16 x 20’. Two standard 15 watt AC lines with power strips, minimum. Sound system and appropriate lighting should be provided, along with a trained sound engineer for larger events. Provision of sound and lights by the band can be negotiated. Outdoor events require completely covered area and ground fault interruptable recepticles.
