Robert was born and raised on the Southside of Houston, TX with both parents in his life. He is the oldest of five kids and has tried to be the example to his younger siblings. Robert knew about God at a young age and for the most part done the basic requirements that was expected from him as a child attended Sunday school, BTU, Vacation Bible School, Drill Teams, and Choir etc. Even though he was always in church his mind often wondered how it would be to do things that was not expected from him.
His parents often tried to hide the fact that they indulged in alcohol and smoking marijuana, but they did they best to keep it from him but it still was not enough. Robert began hanging with the wrong crowd that started of series of him doing things that was not the norm. He began smoking weed and drinking himself. This was all because he felt like something was missing in his life. Robert always knew who God was but that was all predicated on his grandmother’s faith. Robert gave his life to the Lord at the age of 18 at one of his closest friends funeral. Even though he gave his life to God he still was not fully committed to the calling that was on his life. He always did things that were contrary to the Word of God. Often times falling into peer pressure and what every the environment called him to adapt to.
When Rev got a little older he begin the process of becoming more like Christ. On this journey he met his wife Kizzie and started settling down and had two kids Robert Jr. and Claudia. Rev begins working with the youth a lot in his church and that’s when God gave him the mission on his calling on his life.
R.E.V. Rob has been called to a ministry that bridges the gap between the young and the old. He believes that parents and children should meet at a common ground that the bond is so tight that the enemy cannot come in between. The scripture that he stands on is Matthew 5:16 that clearly states to be a light. Robert has been rapping for God since 2001 and has released one mix tape called “Starting Point” and his debut album in 2010 called “It’s Not About Me”. Currently he is working on his sophomore album entitled “The Power of Sound”, which is schedule to drop in the fall of 2013.
